Why is Obamacare such a big news lately

For most people, the reason why Obamacare is major because: 1) People who don't have health insurance will have it. I have friends who have expressed that they wanted Obamacare to pass because they do not have any health insurance. I definitely understand that. I believe we need some type of universal healthcare to cover our citizens who do not have full time jobs that cannot afford healthcare. I do not mind my taxes going into this healthcare because I believe that we all need some type of treatment when we get ill or even want to do preventive care. HOWEVER, this is why I am against like some people 2) If you don't sign up for health insurance, you will get penalized. This is bull mess to its core, and this is one of the things that I don't agree. I am unemployed at the moment looking for a better job. So, should we unemployed folks be punished for not having a job. We already catching a lot of hell without income. If we penalized for not having health insurance because we don't have a job, that's just punishing the people of this country who are trying to get back on their feet.

Hello hotsummer. To start with he Obamacare package was passed with out our congress being allowed to read it. it has over 2000 pages. and we are just learning in the last few months just what is in the bill.From the polls I keep seeing it is about equal of those for it and those against it. I do think it has some good parts. For example the insurance companies not being allowed to drop someone because they become very ill through no fault of their own. A child or person having a pre-existing illness or condition can get covered. A big problem is that it is a tax and President Obama told us no new taxes for this program and it is a tax. Also it is forced on us with out our having any choice as to whether or not we even want it. If I was young and still able to work I would not want to pay into a program that gives my taxes to a person that has medical problems that they could have prevented such as diabetes because a person id obese or lung problems because of smoking. This program is supposed to bring medical expense down and from every thing I learning it is bring cost up. I also fear that those in the field do innovations and discoveries will not have as much insensitive to look for better and new treatments. I for one will not be voting for president Obama this fall. I only hope my country will be able to hang on until next year when he is gone.

that's because this is something beyond us and i prefer to keep myself out of this issue. am not sure what prompted you to talk about this when there's no american responding to it. because the issue is complicated that it needs a huge amount of money to be paying the people. i've seen a lot of disadvantage to their health cares. maybe you should be sharing to us our Health care problem in the Philippines

I will tell you a tiny piece of the new healthcare law... And why I am against it. I should decide whether I can afford and want to pay for healthcare. I should not get penalized if I cannot afford healthcare!!! This country is no longer free. The government is trying to control every flipping thing we think, eat or do! Why should we HAVE to buy health insurance if I never see a doctor and don't want to? Why should I HAVE to buy health insurance when I am already having trouble paying bills? Why should I be PENALIZED for being poor??? These are my things why I am completely against this and there is a LOT more to it! Obama is a HORRIBLE president and I am so glad I did NOT vote for him so I don't have to feel guilty about it!! He is a MORON, like I knew from day one...

Obama care is another TAX that the U.S. president shoved in our faces. This man is an absolute disaster. People complained when George W. Bush put America $4 trillion into debt in 8 years. Obama put the U.S. $5 trillion into debt in just 4 years!!!! Literally the worst president in history. just look at the statistics.
