Why Do People Dye Their Gray Hair?

I'm in my fifties and starting to gray. It doesn't bother me to have gray hair because I'm comfortable in my skin. I've started noticing that friends my age are all dyeing their hair. I began to wonder- why?. Dyeing your hair won't change your age. You can't look sixteen forever. Some of the most beautiful and sexy people I know are gray. Why do you think people hide their gray?

dying hair not a problem. it enhances your overall look and smartness. people like to dye their hair when they are in seventies or eighties. apply once and see the result.

I don't understand why you think dyeing "enhances your smartness". Are you saying it makes you more intelligent. If so, how?

Welcome to mylot
Yes dyeing won't change or hide our age, but black hair certainly makes one look bit younger
I dye my hair once a month, using a herbal dye
thanks for sharing

I think it's because they like the look. It does make a person look younger and makes the person feel good. Yes I know people should be happy with who they are and what they look like but it just makes them feel better about themselves.
Some people just like change. They may not be going grey but they feel like different colours. I personally have never dyed my hair but maybe when I start getting too many greys I'll decide to do the same and have a nice colour :)
