Do you buy and use blank books?

There are so many beautiful blank books available now in book and art stores. Hastings has a vast variety and so does Hobby Lobby. They come in all sizes and styles. They range from only about $2 to almost $20 and more. They used to be so rare here in the US. Now they are available and I love it! I have several that are both ruled and unruled (blank). Some are leather bound with intricate tool work. Others have beautiful images and designs. I have several just standing-by to fill with notes, sketches and stories. You like to collect and us blank books?

I have used many of these 'blank books' for journals down through the years. Some I haven't used and just saved because they were so nice. Yes, I like to collect and even use the blank books. I used to be able to find them at the book stores. THey have sure gotten expensive.

Yes, some are so very expensive. If I find one that has a really nice cover and the paper looks like it's good quality, and if it's less than $9, I grab it. Hobby Lobby has some beautifyl and inexpensive blank books for less than $10. Print out a 40% off coupon and voila... a $6 gorgeous blank book for you to fill with whatever your imagination and talents can come up with. =) Those at Hastings, B&N and other major bookstores are beautiful also, but so very expensive.

Yes, true. We are so lucky to finally get a Hobby Lobby here. But I have seens some nice journals and blank books popping up in places like CVS and Walgreens pharmacies, Family Dollar, K-mart, Walmart, Staples, and Big Lots. They are of cheaper price and quality sometimes so you have to shop around. I have one or two of the $3 books so I can write freely in those and feel bad if I fill it with a lot of "junk" and end up throwing it away. =D

Well.. I call them journals. I'm a bit of a journal-a-holic actually. I collect them a bit faster than I fill them up (which is so typical of me. ). I keep a diary, a dream journal, and a journal that I carry with me and write stuff in whenever. Whenever I fill one I just move on to the next one. I've got a few colorful ones with magnetic binding and then some leather-bound ones with the pages embossed with gold. Well... "gold", I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten it for 10 bucks if it was gold. It's shiny, who cares what it is? lol I just think they're so beautiful and I love carrying them around and watching the pages fill up.

After almost three days, I am FINALLY able to read and post in MyLot! YAAAY!! =D I know what your talking about. Some can be called journals but some blank books are truly blank so you can also drawing things without lines going through. I have even found a few blank books that have a lite blue quadrille pages. Those are very rare though. I just got a gold trimmed Faith journal with a lovely hard cover all decorated in beautiful religious images and it only cost me $3.50 at Ross. Actually it was less as I got 10% off for being over 55. LOL! =P I am glad to see you are much like me. I have several new blank books now standing by for when I need them and I know I WILL need them soon. There is nothing like writing by hand sometimes. I also enjoy using a fountain pen too.

I know, it's been a disaster these past few weeks! And I haven't gotten a single notification e-mail so I've had to go back and check every discussion I've been to in order to know when someone's commented on a post I've made. So tiring! Anyway, I tend to get them with the lines because I don't do much drawing myself. Unless it's mermaids. I doodle mermaids all the time for some reason. Sounds like you got a great deal at Ross! Makes me want to head over there and see if I can catch a similar journal (cause that just sounds so pretty!) but there is the slight problem of me already having more journals than I can fill up this year. I've never used fountain pens much, but I probably should. My cheap pens blast ink at strange times and then go dry again for a few letters.
