We are supposed to hit 105 or above on Sunday. We are in the midst of a heat wave and it is miserable here. 105 would break our record in Raleigh and I am not looking forward to it. I might take the kids to the movies so we are in the air conditioning, then maybe out to eat. Too hot to cook, even outside. How hot is it by you? Is it unusually high like it is here? What do you do to cool off?

Today here in Ontario, Canada it is 26 degrees C. With the humidex it feels like 32. I find the weather this year in particular has been all over the place. We had a very mild winter this year, with not a lot of snow. Then in March it was like summer with 25 degree weather for a week or so, then it got back down to seasonable. Now this summer it has been a real mixed bag as well. We've gone from it being 33 and feeling like 40 with the humidex, to it being 12 and feeling like fall. Strange weather this year in particular.
Like you, I don't like to cook on hot days and I am in a condo and can't have a bbq on the balcony due to fire regulations. We usually eat out on super hot days. We also have an air conditioner that we use when it gets really hot and humid.

Try to stay cool! I just hate spending money on eating out. Sometimes I will stock up on cold cuts so we can make sandwiches and have potato salad - like an indoor picnic. Of course, shades are drawn down to keep the hot sun out. That helps keep the house cooler.

yesterday was very hot amlost 100. but today is even hottier it is suposd to reach
105 that is a record for her..it is so hot i cant breath good when we go outside and i get waht i have to do outside done and run right back in, we are sjuposed to get a new air condition unit, but they have not came yet, it keeps it cooler in the back of the house, but not the front, so we have fans everywhere pulling the air into the front as well.. hopefully we will ge tthe new unit soon.. we had not had it a year and i ask why a new one, we thougth the vents were stopped up, but they said when they put in our unit last year they got some bad units and had already replace 9 from the same time the gave us ours.so we got a bad unit fromthe start.. but at least pur bedrooms are good and cool amd iot does not feel that bad in here plus our landlord is a big compamy and really good abput replacing things
as needed.. the tv temp just said 111.. wow.. im just gonna sit here in fron t of my fan and relax or even take a nap.. with the fan on me.. until it cools off outside :)

I am sorry that North Carolina will be experiencing a heatwave. It is a good idea to take your kids to the cinema so you can watch a movie in the air conditioned building. We have had a wet, windy and cold June. It has been the wettest June in the last 40 years. Today began dull and wet and now there is some warm sunshine.
When it is very hot I go to the coastline to enjoy some fresh breezes. My dream is to go for a swim at the open air pool further up the coastline from where I live. I like to sit in my garden in a shady spot and read a book. In Cairns we cooled off spraying ourselves in a hose's cold water. That was tropical heat and a high of 35 degrees C.

I let my dogs cool off with hose water. They love it. I remember as kids me and my friends would run through sprinklers or hose water. It was fun!

That's the average temperature here in our country during summer. At peak it goes up to 120 and lasts for a week at least. To make it even more horrible, the power goes off often.
But we have to live on with that condition. No other way. (Too bad, every year some people die off sun stroke.)

Wow that is hot! I hate to hear when people die from the heat. Makes me sad. The elderly and the very young as well as pets need special attention.

I am in Fayetteville NC so I am right up there with you! It is SO hot. And my AC is on the verge of going out on us AGAIN! It is starting to blow hotter air instead of cold. It is terrible. I am sweating so bad and so are my kids. =(
We will be trying to stay as cool as possible. And hope for a cold front soon!
