I started using facebook 1 week ago and i think i am an addict now. I think it is a addictive site. Its good if we use it for specific time but when we once start using it, we become addict. I think facebook is a waste of our time. We lose our reallife friends in making virtual friends and lose time. So i deactivated my account. Was my decision right?

Hello, it depends upon the way the use the facebook. According to me use facebook is a waste of time but in the other sense its also useful in many other ways. I have many friends in aboard and facebook helps me to keep in touch with them. Its also helps me to find a job
So it totally depends upon you and its in your hand to decide.

I completely agrees with you. It really depends upon what we are doing there in facebook. We can also have a combined study there on facebook.
So we can use facebook of entertainment as well as for studying.

I think you are right about addictive part. Facebook is very addictive site and with all the games we can play there make very hard for us to break free from it.
I was addicte with facebook especially with the games. Day by day i waste alot of my time in front of computer just to play the games and for more than three hour a day. But now luckily i can free from my addiction by stop opening the site for two whole week and when i enter the site again i dont feel the need to play the game anymore. ^_^
Other than that, making friend from facebook is fun too. Its true we lose our time to make virtual friend there but we can also strenghtening our bond with real life friend through facebook. We can know what our friends feels rightnow or where aour friend will go. So i think facebok not too bad, just we need to limit ourselves for not opening the site for too long.9
Happy mylotting

The importance of Facebook is really dependent upon what you use it for. If you're playing games on the apps, watching videos, and chatting then it seems to me like you're wasting your time. If you're marketing or networking yourself or just creating a new cloud of friends, then it can be beneficial to your social and/or business life. It is very addictive and if you're not careful you can waste minutes upon hours of your precious time doing practically nothing!
It is good that you have deleted yours, I have deleted mine as well but I'm very addicted to Twitter! :)

It can be quite addictive and a bit of a waste of time. But for me, it never escalated so much I forgot to live my offline life... it's just, when I'm bored at home, instead of doing more productive and sensible stuff, I just check my wall for new pics and stuff :P.

Yes I think it is good only for youngsters who are too addicted of having a lot of friends in the Cyber world. For me I seldom open my Facebook because you can only opened it during your free time not during your working time. Honestly, I rather post my ideas and my view that i think here in mylot because the more you post you also earned money.(Practical thinking). Not like in Facebook you can't earn something. How about you other guys out there what's your idea?

It depends on how you use Facebook. It's totally a waste of time if you sit on it all day and do nothing but that. It's not bad to have virtual friends and such but i suggest to have a life too ...

I could say that if we are using facebook just for enjoyment, it is waste of time. But if we are using it for other purpose like sharing thoughts, writing reviews, it will be useful. Moreover that we can have a touch with our old class and college mates. So I believe that facebook can be used not only for enjoyment but also for learning .

Using facebook is okay but not too long, It will surely eat up your time and kind of waste of your time. Well, facebook is one way you can communicate to your long friends before. If you are bored and nothing to do , you can play there too. About deactivating your account, I think its okay too if you think it's a waste of time, anyway its easy to make a new account if you want to open fb account again...

Hmm, for me facebook isn't a waste of time.
I'm using it to get connected with my friends and discuss fun things with each other. FB always make me updated concerning Entertainment, Affiliations, News and other's life as well. My instructors also use groups to stay connected and bring assignments online :)
It all depends on you and how will it make your life easier or complicated :D

Hello there,
Well, it all depends on you. As in my case here, I am currently studying aboard and facebook is the only way to help me to keep in touch with my family and friends. So, I won't call them as virtual people, they are in fact the very real people that I have ever known in my whole life. For sure, I won't stay on facebook the whole day there. Everyday I will just log in for a while to see some updates from them and then if there is nothing important, I will just log out and then go busy with my own things.

Hello according to me facebook is a waste of time. Usually people spend a lot of time chating uselessly with their friends for a long time. Also on the other hand it helps me to keep in touch with my friends who are in abroad and helps me to get a job.
Therefore you must use it constructively and for your development and not to spend time for useless chats

I use it to get a feel for people before I meet them, and I do believe that a lot of profiles are targeted towards that purpose so that other don't have the wrong assumptions about them. I don't use Facebook to make new friends nor consider it being social, but it is quite entertaining.

yeah i could see how Facebook would be a wast of time i myself has a Facebook i use it to tell what i am doing and how i am feeling i got family on there so its not a complete waste of time. Especially when i barley get to see them so if you have family on there then its not but if you don't then yeah i would say it is.you always can deactivated your account by choice if you don't want it then you can its totally up to you. :)

I think we all get the same feeling everytime we join a new site, like when the first time I joined mylot four years ago, I was so determined to earn money I spent almost all day everyday here, then I lost the motivation to log in and post, that's why I stopped using this site, I guess it is the same with you, but on facebook we all have different reasons why we use it, for example, for me it is not really for making new friends and using the games and apps, but to stay in touch with family members overseas and former schoolmates and office mates, so if you think it is bad that you got hooked on facebook, then I guess deactivating your account was the right choice. But if you are using facebook to keep intouch with friends and family then, it is a bad idea. I hope I made sense. lol :)

Yes I also think facebook as a waste of time. Using facebook is one kind of addiction. It disturbs to do other important works. But I don't want to deactivate my account. Facebook has other good side too. It helps to find out our old friend who were missing for long time. It is a media of friendship.

The matter of whether its a waste of time depends largely on how you use it and what you use it for. Some people use it for overly long period of time and is addicted to sitting there and watching friends posting, and this is definitely a waste of time. However if you are the type of users who just use facebook to keep in contact with your REAL friends then it will be a precious tool which save your time instead.

Facebook is definitely a waste of time....but it depends on you!!
I have stopped using facebook and even other social networking sites like orkut.
Though connecting with friends is helpful in some cases, mostly it kills most of our time just by checking our friends updates. Thus a lot of our valuable time is lost.
Personally facebook and other social networking sites must be used with a lot of care
