What Do You Think About The Tom And Katie Divorce?

I figured it was going to happen sooner then it did. He was so big into his religion on Scientology and she didn't seem to be into it at all. I hate to hear about divorce too especially when kids are involved. So I hope they can be civil and remember that it effects Suri too

At first i saw Tom reaction when he was in love with Katie is lust And lust can't be true love i still believe Tom with Nicole..she is better than any Tom's girls or maybe Tom is a real love adventurer

i actually not that surprised just because (not that i follow the tabloids that much) but from what i have heard, he seems a little over the top. sounds like he was forcing Katie to do a lot of stuff against her will and maybe she finally got fed up?

I was quite surprised when Katie chose to divorce Tom. I guess I knew it was possible but, they seemed so happy. I believe the problem was the differences in the way they chose to lead their lives. It did not seem to be a good mutual fit. Hopefully they can decide on joint custody for their daughter. It is so hard to see this formerly very happy couple, split. Maybe they were fine with each other's ways of thinking in the beginning, and as time went by, they could no longer find compatibility.

The handwriting for this couple was on the wall though. Tom was too controlling; he would want his way in everything. And religion is a big carbuncle; you can't force someone to abandon their religion and come over to the other side. Religion is a very personal thing, and for a marriage to succeed you have to be compatible. There are children involved. Katie Holmes does not want her children to be indoctrinated by Scientology and does not want them to abandon their own religion. It is wrong to try and get someone to convert.

I'm on the fence with this one. If you look at this past relationships with women, then yes they were going to be headed for divorce. In my head, I thought they had a good marriage. I don't follow celebrities though and no one really knows what goes on behind closed doors. Look at Seal and Heidi Klume (sp?), they were happy together and seem to be miserable apart - but are divorcing anyway.

I honestly think that most Hollywood marriages are doomed from the beginning. So many things that get in the way of a real relationship together. The public eye, crazy stalkers, fake friends, money, greed, the list goes on and on. I think that their whirlwind romance was very romantic. The fact that they lasted five years is good. In Hollywood five years is like a lifetime. I just hope that Suri is not damaged by this. I hope that no bitter feelings and mud slinging comes from this divorce.

I really dont know why they are getting a divorce. They were such a ice couple. They looked so happy together. They were together for 5 years and I thought this marriage will not get broken. But anything can happen in this world. So let's just hope they be happy for the rest of their life.

Divorce is a sad event. It affects the emotional aspect of both involved and it hurts the kids the most

This is Tom's third divorce so he must not be the easiest celebrity to be married to. I am waiting to see what more comes out since Katie is asking for sole custody. Katie had been raised a Catholic but converted to Scientology when she married Tom. It might be that she has had second thoughts about Scientology.

she was young when married him so maybe she now sees him as different person or cher mind changed or so, anyway its theire life and we do not know for sure why they are divorcing or even if they will get divorce or its just the medias as always say things

i hate divorce. i disagree when people get divorce because i believe that the two should work about their relationship!

Well, I was a bit surprised because Tom jumped on the couch for her. But by then a person doesn't have to jump on the couch to make a marriage last. Not even a romantic proposal or whatever. It's not the external factor that makes marriages last.

I am not really updated in the showbiz world and I was surprised when I read this in yahoo news this morning. I was not actually surprised about the divorce but that Katie is married to Tom. Talk about ignorance. That just shows how much I know or don't know about Hollywood people and life.

I've always thought there was something creepy and controlling about this marriage, so I'm not surprised at all - other than being surprised it lasted so long. I think a lot of it may be to do with how they're bringing up Suri. She seems very precocious for a Scientology child, so maybe Katie is wanting more freedom of expression for her. Who knows? I just hope they can keep it civil for the child's sake.

So Katie blindsided Tom like how he blindsided Nicole. I guess one can call it karma. Too bad, so sad.

I guewss that nothing should be surprising about Hollywood marriages, Marriage is hard enough without being in the limelight too. Everything you do or say is under the paparazzi microscope in one way or another. I thought that Tom and Katie were such an adieable couple together and their daughter is so precious. It is sad to see their marriage drift apart. i onky hope it does not take an ugly toll on their daughter.

I think that Katie is really a good person and maybe she wants some freedom. Tom cruise is crazy and Katie is really cute. I think she is fed up of his craziness and she want to live her own life. I think it is good for herr and she will feel good after all this.

I Think it is sad that they have to go through separation as that is not the easiest thing to deal with. I heard that A statement was released saying that Tom was deeply saddened.
