I have a 13 month old and he does not walk yet. I am not concerned as my husband and I were both late walkers and the Dr. is not concerned yet either. I am just curious at what age did your child start walking on their own?

I would be a little concerned because as far as I know, most kids do start walking by one years old or just starting. If your child is pulling up and moving around then your baby should be fine. Some kids are late bloomers. My son took a very long time to potty train than most kids.

I have entered 3 comments but none got in. I am so disappointed to see my efforts going in vain.

He is taking steps with help just not walking on his own. I think it is currently more of a courage issue. He has developed early in other areas too.

My elder kid started walking by 8 months. Thou it was for a few steps.. My younger son started walking by 7 months. I don't think you should be worried about it. I think it depends on the child himself, but you can help your son out by doing some exercise with him.

Thanks! We do a lot of walking with him. He loves to be walked around but if you try easing up he will stop.

Kids are not the same. Some kids walks at early age while others are on their later age. My eldest starts to walk when she's 10 months old. My second child starts walking when he is 9 months and my youngest is when he is 7 months old. So, kids are not the same from one another....

My daughter started walking while she was 7months old and the boy did so while 8+months old. Some boys take time to walk but you must have him checked by a good MD.

Most of the babies in our family have not walked that early. My son has a very good Doctor, If he is not walking on his own at his 15 month visit he will be sent to a specialist but I really do think he is close.
