The rain stopped so I went out for a walk. Our neighboring street was lined with food vendors selling 'balot', 'kikiam', one day old chicken, and fishball. All fit to the cold weather being 17 degrees at present.
I chose the day old chicken and enjoyed its crispiness while thinking of my life after 3months.After 3 months I will be leaving the country. I will be missing the life in this street. The fun over these food that I guess I won't find in the place i'm going.
I have been eating these street foods for 12 years already and I don't know when shall I taste them again..
To Pinoys outside the country, are there 'similar' foods such as these in the areas where you are? Any encounters? I'm just wondering...

it is something which you loves about a country. it is your experience in that country. it makes you emotional that you are going to leave this country. so don't worry about for that now the country you are going you will get something special in that country which will make you love in.

ah yeah, the street foods, and everything else you can find whenever you walk the busy streets in the Philippines. Actually i think it does differ from city to city, province to province. I live in the city and here in the largest city in Manila. there are not much small eskinitas out here because our streets are quite larger than other cities... there are some barbecue places here, selling isaw or chicken intestines, pork intestines, pork blood grilled, chicken feet and so on. in our street there is not such but only of the one that sells pork barbeque and thats it. =) sometimes there was this man too that also would call out "balot" in our street. he sells balut and pork chicharon.

I like eating kikiam, fish ball and balot but not fond of the one day old chicken. I really love to eat with friends especially during school days out side the school every time the classes ended. Nice to eat when it is raining.

If balut doesn't exist outside the country, maybe we could start that as a business somewhere. What about that?
Balut goes international!
