Freelance sites

Can anyone tell me how to get those all important first jobs on sites like Elance and oDesk? I apply and apply and all I get are rejections. I have a good CV and excellent skills but no one seems willing to give a newbie a chance. I'm willing to charge a lower fee in order to build up reputation but that doesn't seem to help either... Any advice?

I think this is the only way you can have success on these sites. I can suggest you to please look at your CV again, maybe you are missing a vital information there tha can make them interested. But yes, there is one thing for sure once you get started nothing to stop you. All the best.

Thanks, will look at my CV again, and I'm always taking the tests on oDesk as well, can't do any harm...

Yes sure as you can have these tests frequently, that is one good idea adding to your profile, all the best.
