For me the most important requirement for a marriage would be sincerity. When someone is sincere you can trust them and trust their judgment. You can discuss a problem normally without getting rude. You can listen to each other and respect one another's views. If you are sincere you also have the makings of a good friend. Some people marry because they are physically attracted and think that will last. It can last when you have all the other ingredients in place and both of you are determined to have a marriage built on love and respect. When you lose respect there is nothing left.

Respect is really hard to earn, if it is broken I don't think the happy and healthy relationship can be back. Also the trust with each other, you really have to take care of the trust that was given to you. Sincerity, sometimes never last. Courting stage being sincere is really shown but as time goes by the both of you are in a relationship the sincerity vanishes and sometimes it becomes the reason of misunderstanding and reason for break up.

Hello and welcome to mylot :). What I mostly want out of relationships is feeling good, both in the physical, egoistical way and in the seemingly altruistic way of feeling pride or pleasure out of making others feel good. When the relationship becomes more problems than enjoyment, I end it. This might sound cruel or evil, but ignoring this is what makes partners abuse or kill each other.

The both of you should always understand each other. Talk if you have problems, don't end a day without a solution. Always listen with one another, have a happy relationship and you will have a healthy one, just enjoy it. Sometimes they hurt each other especially of jealousy. They are crazy with their loved one. They should always ask and seek for truth don't just judge. And hurting your partner was really not the solution.
