How do you decide if a song is any good or not?

First and most important is the sound and the energy of that sound. If the audio is appealing to me I listen to the lyrics. If I like the lyrics and the message behind the song then I might invest in that music and listen to other songs sung by the same artist.

Depending upon the type of the song , I decide whether there is higher importance for the lyrics or the rhythm. Mostly, I select on the basis of rhythm. I could say that songs is for enjoyment, it needn't convey a meaning. But poems are something which has to convey a meaning . There must a good lyric for the poems .

i think you decide your heart many decide as theri mood tells them, i mean either you like it or no its just a feeling as you could like song and other hate it people are not same

First i would listen to the beat. If my body or mind would be in sync with the song. It doesn't matter really. Sometimes just the beat and melody can make your mind drift away. Since i'm ecclectic so any music genre would do for me. Depending on my mood. If i feel romantic, of course the pop and ballads would strike a chord into my mind. If i feel anger or energetic. Those techno or dubsteps or hard rock would be nice.

Since I am a metal music fan I look for many things to catch my attention. I enjoy a good sound for the guitar that is sometimes crunchy. I also love a great solo that grabs your attention. The lyrics really can't matter sometimes if the vocalist is hard to understand. I know some probably won't understand why I can enjoy a song without being able to understand what is said. I can not really explain myself though.

ya without lyrics can't make song , so lyric is very important after that depend on the mean of lyric which type of this... every person like different type of songs.. but i love all type of songs and it depend on mud on that time... in the morning i listen romantic , afternoon hip hop / rock , in the evening love songs and in night i listen only old songs...
