The heat wave here has been going on for a few days. It's way too hot to be outside so finding something indoors is the best thing a person can do. I am very happy though to spend my time up in my craft room, in fact if the weather were a bit cooler I would be outside weeding my flowers.....so I am thankful in just a little way for the heat wave...its giving me some extra time to spend in my craft room. Has the weather at times given you extra time to craft?

It's 20 degree here, it is not too cold but I just dont feel like to go outside I just received 2 packages of my craft supplies from ebay but I need to clean my house first before I can sit and doing my craft. When Im done with the house cleaning because I just moved to my new house, I will have more time to do my craft. I have a room as my craft room now and no kids will bother me. During hot weather I usually go play outside, going to beach or swimming in the pool, and in rainy days I keep myself busy with my craft projects.

Hi Jillhill,
If it's raining outside, I am just here in my room watching my downloaded movies or just read anything. I am not into crafting the way I do like years ago. I used to be fond of cross-stitching as evident with the works that's being hang on our walls here in our house...but now, because I am mostly too tired from work...I don't do it anymore.
I am usually outside if it's hot since I would tend to go to the malls or just anywhere...
But, I don't really go outside that much.
Have a great day!

I'm so glad I read this because it reminded me of what I wanted to ask you. Have you seen the show Craft Wars on TLC? It's on Tuesday nights at 8pm or 9pm. This is its second week. It's hosted by Tori Spelling, but don't let that stop you from watching it. It's pretty neat! I can't believe what they did with their supplies last week. They were charged to make a gym bag out of all this sports equipment and they were really resourceful. The competition is just between three people each episode, so each episode has a winner.

i actually have been doing the same thing. my craft area is in our basement which is somewhat cooler than the rest of the house as we don't have central air so i have been down there a fair bit, planning out what i want to make for Christmas and making a few gifts for right now.

Oh heck yeah! =D Since the weather is usually too hot to even go outside I am doing more gaming at my PC and more crafting. Right now I am into beadery. I am making beaded bookmarkers. In fact I went to Hobby Lobby today and just strolled around in the AC looking at crafting items. I bought some charms, copper wire, black plain tote bags and some blank books. But now its time to go gaming in Everquest2! Byeeeeee!

I know it has been hot here in Nevada as well and I am going to continue working on my quilting. I am hoping to buy a couple of more kits so I can make continue making quilts. I will set time aside to do everything. I wish I had a craft room, but since I am living with my parents it is hard to find a working space. What types of craft projects are you currently working on?

I haven't done it yet, but I've definitely been thinking about it. I had to pull beets this morning and it took twice to get them all because I wimped out and went back into the house to cool down.
I've been thinking Christmas but haven't got any really good ideas yet.

It has been so hot here there's no way I can be outside for long. The other day it was 108 degrees but today should only be about 100. The humidity is going up again so that makes it even worse. I have done more crafting since this heat wave started. I work on them along with doing laundry so I do feel like I accomplish something. Enjoy your time inside and hope you finish some fun and profitable projects.

Definitly! The last week it's been so hot by 7:30 I had to turn on the a/c to even do my exercise. Usually it starts warming up by 9 am and I thought that was bad. I've taken time to start on my Christmas ornament patterns and hope to have at least one ready to publish by the end of the week.

That sounds like a great idea to beat the heat. I am a little aggravated because all of my stuff is in the basement right now. We have been doing some redecorating and the room where I do my painting in is being painted..lol. I am going to use some inside time to finally get some redecorating finished that I have been wanting to do. I don't have to go back to work until Monday.

I know what you are talking about with heat waves I live in Tennessee and it has been over 100 degrees lately. I am trying to find me some type of craft activity to do that I don't need somebody to teach me.

No candle crafting for me! Way too hot to stand outside over a hot plate and double boiler! It gives me time however to get organized and find new ideas for candle crafting. Too much fun!

On hot days it definitely is better to stay inside some place where there is air conditioning. I do crafts, however I have to be in the mood to do them. Today, however, now that mylot is up and running for me I'm more in the mood to cash in on the 4X earnings than to do crafts.

I can't agree more about the weather. Now it's too hot to be outside, besides working time,I just stayed at home surfing the Internet, sometimes it's very boring. So I intended to do some exercises in the evening to keep healthy.Crafting is also a good choice to deal with the hot weave.

Well, considering when I first went to IL it was quite HOT and humid being in the 100s, I can relate with warm weather. It has been a little warmer here in WA state since I got back but nothing like a lot of the other parts of the US. I totally think this heat wave everywhere has been having could stop, and places that need the Rain would get it as well.

I agree with you - it really has been way too hot to be outside. I think it's great that you got to find some time to do some crafting. I love crafting but with 4 children I am constantly busy doing something else. In any free time I am usually on a site trying to earn some money.
Anyways, have fun crafting!!
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

I love rainy days and like you when the sun shines hardly i would rather stay at home. Watching movie, working at home and spending quality time with my children is my most precious craft. This helps me to relax and have fun and know what they are up to. Of course as a parent it is important for us to be close with our children, almost like a friend so that in the future they are comfortable to open any problems with us. And thats what simple weather means to me

Yes it has been way too hot here in NC. The temps have been over 100 several days and the humidity is very high. My 2 year old loves to play outside but I just can't let him. We stay inside for the most part. I do have to try to go out early and get the garden work done but it is slowly giving out. We are fortunate that we have a nice cool basement with lots of room for Lil Keith's toys. He hangs out there when it is too hot outside. I don't get anything done in the way of crafts. With the 2 year old and 8 month old twins I get laundry done and the dishes and clean a little bit and that is all I have time for.

As there are crafters here, I just wanted to mention to many of you that you can sell your products on www.etsy.com. Etsy lets you sell only handcrafted items, and such. I have sold there, and it is a very very good site for people. I use another site now, but etsy was very good. I agree, with everyone, I've started doing things as well. I have extensive experience with crafts and can help people with almost all their crafting needs. Everything from foamies to wood working. however, I'm not very good with yarn, not at all. Knitting and Crochet are not my strong points. happy crafting!
