June 2012 Crater Lake

We took a June vacation to Crater Lake in Oregon this year and had a great experience. Located near the border between Oregon and California the weather near Klamath Falls, Oregon was about 80 degrees, and yet just over an hour away the temperature by the lake was 32 degrees. Two other entrances to the lake were closed because there was still too much snow. The trip up the mountain was beautiful and in addition to the farms with a load of cows there was a lot of wildlife. A few deer, lots of chipmunks and ground squirrels running about pulled the kids attention away from the DVD player. I'd love to see how it looks in the winter. Has anyone else visited or interested in going to Klamath falls and Crater Lake?
