A clean cat I have to say, I remember before my Nikky passed away. God Bless her! But I remember the male cat which is my daughters cat and still here used to pull some toilet paper off the roll and cover up where she had got sick and last week I was off to work for the first time in a while and skipped the litter box a couple of days maybe 2 but when I went to clean it he had put the pooper scooper inside the litter box!! Talk about Mr Clean1 he he he l.o.l. just thought I would share that with you guys it was so funny!

That is one smart cat too. I would not imagine how a cat could be so smart and about cleanliness! Well if only all cats were that clean though. Next time try to teach him to clean the whole box by himself, that'd be your next task! Hehe

Use the scoop able kind . Never ever use the clay kind. Try tidy cat, fresh step, arm and hammer. There are tons. The clay kinds just do not work. It has to be clumping scoop able. I use five small boxes for six cat's and never add new litter to old litter. If he is going anywhere then you don't have clean litter boxes for him. You need to clean the spots he goes with soap and water then ammonia or a urine neutralizer. They have special stuff for getting rid of pet smells at home and pet stores. They have special enzymes in it.
I just dump old litter into old litter then scrape the bottom of the box, the stuff that sticks like urine then I wash and dry and refill the box. I have had up to fifteen cat's in my house at once when I was taking in stray kittens and you would never know. Now I have six and my friends and relatives say you would never know.

Cats find ways of telling things us when they need something. I think they could take care of themselves completely if they had thumbs and were taller. They are very smart animals.

We used to feed our cat on a paper plate, and sometimes if it was empty longer than he wanted we would find the plate torn into shreds. I guess he was frustrated if there was no food on it, and was making his statement.

Suzzy, I didn't see your response before responding, though funny but true and I guess conditionning either classical or operant, you cat can actually use your toilet and no matter how tall or big, your kiddies poop bin could serve that purpose.

LOL! Now that definitely is a clean cat ... and a little bit bossy, too, I would say!
When we rescued our kitten, he was so small that we tried using a water dish as his litter box, and he was still too small to get into it by himself. He would mew at me until I took him and put him in the dish, then he would do his business and mew at me to take him out again, because when he tried to get out himself he would fall over the edge and get mad! That was the easiest he has ever been to keep clean!

I know it would take time and patience if ever your daughter had trained him for such things. Putting his poop by himself inside the litter box is really amazing. I knew some cats covers their poop after especially in the yards but your daughter's cat is one of a kind.

I can remember that cats are clean depending on how you train him/her, they are one creature so full of self esteem and cleanliness if I could remember clearly from my experience, but still they are cunning.
I guess he is past that stage of missing someone and would like to be different not living under someone else's shadow, such a brilliant cat, guess you need to appreciate that but next step should be him pooping in its toilet by itself so no use of a pooper scooper, all that is necessary would be you just spilling it in your own toilet and flushing. One day he/she might actually even flush or bathe themselves.

Oh wow, he's half way there. Now if you could only figure how to get him to scoop his own poop. You would have made.

Some years ago I jigsawed a piece of three ply slightly larger than our toilet seat and cut a 100mm hole in the center. I painted it with epoxy resin to make it waterproof and it sits on top of the toilet seat. Our cat does wee and poo through the hole into the toilet and we flush it occasionally in the usual manner. Cats are smart.

Yes I really miss my nikky! She will always be in my heart! But time has a way of healing but time will never make me forget her. She was loved so much. Now the male kitties are keeping me happy and entertained for sure. And Max Ban that was a great ideal I would love to see that for sure! Cool!!

That's amazing!! I thought our Baby Cat was smart with her carrying her little crumpled paper balls to the top of the steps to throw down the stairs to play with. Tan inteligente, este gato! Mine don't cover up where they get sick, which is probably good because the one gets sick ON my bed too many times and I want to be able to see it before I lie in it. But, putting the scooper in the pan to remind you?? That's the greatest thing I've ever heard of. I love it!!
I have to tell a friend of mine so she can read about your very smart cat, too.

really funny cat! Among pets I'd like cat because it looks witty and clean. My cat also keeps my fallen things under bed. It brings everything in a place where I could easily see them.

Cats are clean sometimes I think they are very clever. As you said,he seemed to know how to put the
pooper scooper inside the little box.I had a cat a fews years ago.My mom also prepared a box for him to poop. But I have to say that smelled really bad.Except these things, cats are cute animals.
