I just turned 18 this last month and I gotta say, it took a while to sink in. Most kids in high school are psyched because they get to "buy cigarettes" or "buy lottery tickets". I don't care to shorten my life or waste my money so I never felt excited with them. When my birthday came around it was like "okay...now what?" The fact that I have one more year of high school didn't help either. Then a few days ago I saw my mother doing her "click for cash" sites, mylot, and swagbucks and something dawned on me: I can make money online! Then I started thinking of all the other things I can do, even still in high school. I guess 18 isn't so humdrum after all. How was 18 for you?

It's funny, if I was graduating this year, like I was supposed to, my birthday and graduation day would have been the same.

Turning 18 can be a big change for some. For me it was not that big of deal. Well I'm glad it has turned out well for you so far. Now get into myLot and you'll be addicted like the rest of us. Then once you start earning it is basically just a nice enjoyment with a big bonus.

Yeah it is nice that we have this huge community to find friends on and discuss whatever we want. Even when I'm bored I come here and I feel like I'm just having fun. If I can do that then I will be more active and who knows the amount I will make next month.

I see what you mean already. I'm a social butterfly and I love talking to people. So once I've fun out of things to do on Facebook, I can just get on here, and get $$$! Pretty cool.

Good for you making money instead of wasting it! I occasionally buy a lottery ticket or 2 but I don't smoke. 18 for me was more entering adult \hood and freedom from my parents. I was excited to start the new chapter of my life and go to college and make something of myself! Good luck to you and enjoy these years because they were some of the best years of my life. now being 32 yrs old the only thing I wish I could go back and change was not CHARGING so much on credit cards lol. I spent a lot of years paying off debt

Haha. Yea, I've been warned of credit cards since I was little. It wasn't until Careers class this year that I heard "credit cards give you awesome credit scores and free air miles...if you pay them off every month". I had never thought of that. Doesn't cost you anything if you pay it off before any interest comes along. Still don't know if I'd trust myself with one, but I'm not so scared of them anymore. As for entering adulthood and freedom from parents, after I graduate I'm going to the beauty school here, which I think takes 2-3 years. Won't be leaving mom anytime soon lol. But I don't mind.

I turned 18 three months after graduating from high school and had already started college by then. I was still living at home since I was going to college in my home town. I actually had started college in the Summer not long after graduating from high. The college had two six week sessions in the Summer and I took math and swimming. That way in the Fall I was ready to start taking Physics which was my major. Back then there was no Internet. For a few days between High School and starting college I had worked as a bagger in store that was similar to Walmart. I quit that because I wanted to devote all my time to my studies. Eventually I made money with a research grant, grading papers and teaching labs while I was still in college.

I can't imagine starting college when I was 17. I'd feel so young! But I can't wait to start having a job again. I worked at McD for a year and a half from age 15-17. I'm thinking this time I want a little more social job. I always got in trouble for talking to the customers too much xP lol

I was a mother at 18 don't regret it but would not recommend it either. You study hard and stay away from things like smoking ,gambling. My youngest son is 18 and he tells me some people his age are deep in debt ,pay day loans ect. Then they gamble on line bingo to try to get their money back to pay their debts. He works for a promotions company and any money he earns he saves ,he is sensible thank goodness.Life is what you make it,just try not to make too many mistakes, you will be lucky if you don't make a few along the way.Good luck and happy birthday.
