How to find understanding friend?

One of my friends recently very sad because her long-time best friend had left her. In fact, they are very close to each other and always seen hanging along together whenever they are free. But unsure why because of a petite argument recently, it breaks their long-time friendship. Is there any best way to amend their long-time friendship back to normal? Anyone have good solution to it?

The best and the worst solution to such problems is - a discussion between the two friends. Priorities and times change and so do the preferences of any individual. That said, friendship still is above and beyond these changes. So all it should take is an openness and willingness to forget the bad incident and patch up
