I used to watch the Andy Griffiths Show all the time when I was a kid. It was one of my favourites.
The starting of the show was just as popular as the show itself. Andy and Opie walking with their fishing gear in hand...the whistling...Oh no, now I'm whistling that tune! Can't get it out of my head.

I sure do remember Andy. And silly Don Knotts. That was a great show. And his southern lawyer one was great too. He was lucky to have had the good series he had. He had a long and rich life. My thoughts go out to the family and I am sure they will miss such a great guy!

He was a great person, who was in show business a long time. Andy was so wonderful as the father figure in Ron Howard's life and the actors were friends off the set. I know some people will remember that the women that played Aunt Bee couldn't stand Andy Griffith and you know he was really a great man because he still went to the hospital when she was sick and they worked out their differences.
I love Matlock, which was his favorite role. It was clear that he was having a great time and he had some talented guest stars. His second helper was one of his friends off the set was sad to see what happened to Kene the first helper, who lost his job because of his bad choices. Andy believed you had to be a person that didn't do anything against the law, so his television character was a lot like him.
I enjoy listening to his gospel music, as he was a talented singer, who sang from an early age in his church. He has an award winning album.
One big difference Andy was married three times and had 2 children. Sadly, one passed away from his addiction a son and his wife and daughter survive him. Rest in peace Andy you will be missed and you certainly did so much to enter us by acting, singing, directing and producing movies and television over the years.

Yes, RIP Andy Griffith. He was in the category of one of the best. He had this certain old school charm about him probably because of the Andy Griffith show. He will be missed.
