Can Junk Food cause Leukemia? If Yes or No? Why?

Yesterday, we had a duty last night in a hospital ward, the patient assigned to me was a 10 year old with Acute leukemia. She's very sweet and lovable.I really wish she could get well soon. She will be having her chemotherapy starting next week. I will say her name for privacy purposes but please help me pray in order for her to get well soon. :( anyway. I am trying to trace the possible etiology or cause of her Illness. I asked her father yesterday, and he said the reason for her having this disease is due to eating Junk foods. I have been trying to understand what is the relation with this disease but I can not relate it.I have been looking in the net for answer. Though I see answers, I still want to think it over and over if there is connection. I've been trying to relate each concepts but still cannot come up of a conclusion. I am also thinking that there is no relation at all and there is another reason of her having the disease. I know I am the nursing student, so probably one would say that I should know the answer. Well, that is why I still a student. I still need to learn more. That is why I am asking anyone If he/she knows the answer, can you help me with this? Thanks in advance.

first of alll i thought leukemia was a blood dic order and it can be of all process food i was reading a book on fasting and eating right people were dibitic and blood dicorder went on a fruit and vegetable diet for 2weeks when back to the doctor could not find the diease all things are possible

i think all process food can harm u trying to go on a fast for a dy or to with fruith and vegetable

Leukemia is cancer of the blood cells usually the white ones to be more specific. The exact cause of it is unknown by experts. Whether it be genetic, age, family history, radiation exposure etc... they are unsure what factors make a person get the disease. They do say people with leukemia should eat a healthy diet and not eat lots of junk food because it can make the symptoms worse. But as for junk food causing leukemia NO.
