I just watched Disney-Pixar's "Brave" and I LOVED IT!

I just the movie a couple of days ago with a friend and we both enjoyed it very much. If I had to rate it I would give 5/5 stars! Pixar and Disney are a real winner here with this tale about a courageous scottish princess who wants to take control of her destiny. The story is exceptional with humor, love, and suspence. True to the style of Disney, there were some very moving moments that almost brought me to tears or laughing out loud. The magic of Pixar is truly amazing. The scenes are full of details and realistic imagery and made me hate to blink for fear I would miss something. Rarely does a movie merit me wanting to go see it a second time but this one does. I hope to get the soundtrack CD also as the music and sound effects were delightful to listen to. Brave is a winner and I high recommend this film! I invite you to reply to this post with your thoughts about the movie but please be considerate of those here that haven't seen it. Do NOT spoil it for them, but do tell me how you liked it. =)

I really enjoyed this movie too. When I saw the trailers for it I was afraid that it would be another one of those feminist princesses in the dark ages story, and I HATE those. But when I actually found out the rest of the plot, it looked a whole lot more interesting, and now after seeing the movie I think it was really good. More about a girl having to reconnect with her mother and fix a mistake made by a selfish decision and finding the middle ground between them. Great soundtrack too! And her hair looked amazing the whole time. I hear there was an entire team devoted just to Merida's hair for three years! lol Can you imagine spending three years doing someone's hair?

Oh my!! Just on her hair? Really? Where did you see that? I was totally impressed with the scenery and the characters in the movie. The creators of the movie did an amazing job to ensure the right texture, colors and movement were are realistic as possible. I caught myself watching how Merida's hair bounced as she moved. But three years? Just on her hair? I would really like to find out more about the making of this movie. Looks like I better go do some research on the web after this. =)

Very interesting, Ally! I am going out in a bit and will be looking to see if there is now a picture book version of the movie. Picture books are usually for kids but this "big kid" is also an artist and I would like to have a souvenir hardcopy of the movie for inspiration. =) I didn't see the 3D version and as much as I liked the movie don't see the real need for it. Now, I did see a preview announcing that "Finding Nemo" is now in 3D. Given the atmosphere of underwater scenes with fish swimming about, I think I will want to see that in 3D. =)

Of course I bet there were other teams doing all sorts of other things at the same time, but I saw on a new bulletin about this movie that one team had to work on her hair for three years. lol I don't know how big the team was. But I imagine hair is one of the hardest things to do in 3D animation. In the early years of 3D animation, we didn't see a whole bunch of hair! lol

I haven't watched this movie yet. But it is already available in the cinema. I heard many good comments about it. Such as it is a very touching movie. But I am afraid that this movie is a girl-type movie and I don't know whether my son will like it or not. So I prefer to buy the DVD later. I love China

It's not like "My Little Pony" or "Tinkerbell" if that's what you mean. The movie is not "girly" just because it's heroine is a girl. It's full of action, suspence and humor. There is danger and challenges that have to be overcome. If you are expecting pastel pink wings and lavender gowns, don't see this movie. =) The male characters are hilarious, but brave also. If you have seen any film promotions, you may have noticed there are THREE LITTLE BOYS in "Brave" too! If your son likes magic, fantasy lore, action, suspense and quality storytelling, he might like this movie.

I too want to give the movie 5 stars. The movie was really good. It was one of the best Pixar movie to come out in the last few years. Pixar is the brand you can trust. Those guys make great movies and Brave proved that again. the storyline was fantastic and the movie was really funny.

No, I don't want to ruin it for anybody. I just want to make sure those in MyLot hear about what a good film this is. There are many good films out this summer and this is one of them. But I am tired of the superhero films like Thor, Capt. America and Ironman. I didn't go to any of them. No, not even The Avengers. I am sick of superhero movies. "Brave" was refreshing because there is no superhero. There are no aliens or transformers. It's historic in nature and the heroine is unknown and young. And the plot is not overwhelmed with bashing and smashing scenes, but there is plenty of action! =)
