I just woke up from a nap and heard the news about Andy Griffith passing. He had quite a career. I remember him as the sherriff with Ron Howard and DOn Knotts. We were getting re-runs for awhile until just recently. He had a long and rich life. He was what 86? Had two long running shows on tv and a movie career before that. Any thoughts on this great actors passing or his life.

So true. Each time one passes I think back over so many favorites gone. Elizabeth Taylor was a sad one too. I remember National Velvet and her sweet voice and look.

Yes he did die and I am saddened at his loss. The Andy Griffith Show was a show that a person could watch and not have to worry about anything bad happening, politics being mentioned or bad people getting away with bad things. It was a nice way to relax and enjoy some quiet time at home with your family and perhaps the young ones and sometimes even the old ones would learn a lesson from the show. He is an actor that will be missed.

He sure did. It was a very decent show. Had good lessons for Opie and mostly decent folk. He sure will be missed.

Yeah, he was 86. And some people seem to remember him for more for Matlock. I think of both, but especially Andy Griffith Show because my dad liked to watch the reruns whenever they were on TV. And it seems like that show is never off the air. At least once a week I can find it on some channel.

I heard this news this morning. I will always remember him the most as Sheriff Andy Taylor on the Andy Griffith show! Of course he was the father of Opie played by Ron Hwoard! Can't forget Ant Bee! How can you forget Don Knotts as Barney Fife? It was a great show! Then lalter he was Matlock! I have not seen any reruns lately of the Andy Griffith show. He will never be forgottan!

Yes, how can you forget Barne? What a card huh? Aunt Bee was a sweetheart. Matlock was a good show too. He was lucky to have had two long running shows. We had re-runs of Andy for a while but just recently they took them off.

Somehow I've never watched the Andy Griffith show but was aware of how pivotal a show it was. I saw a couple episodes of Matlock. I guess he always played the same type of character throughout his career. He was part of a lot of people's lives. Now that he is gone, may he rest in peace.

Yes, he was. You could probably watch some episodes on DVD. They were good. Both series. Matlock and Andy of Mayberry.

I was too. I think he is one that you won't hear a negative thing about. He was an all round good person. Never felt a need to do nasty shows or alot of violence.

I grew up watching his show and even watched the spin-off "Mayberry RFD" and enjoyed all the humor and characters. I never watched him in Matlock though as I don't care for courtroom dramas. He did some fine work and I am so glad to hear he passed away in his sleep, peacefully at home with his wife. He was a great actor who brought a lot of joy and entertainment to his fans.

Matlock wasn't totally a 'courtroom drama'. It was the entire story and had alot of scenes at his house, with his daughter, and even some episodes with Don Knotts. I don't like courtroom dramas either. He did bring alot of joy and entertainment to fans.

I saw that on the news yesterday and was disappointed that he had passed. He was iconic for sure. I actually still watched some of the re-runs when they were on. He did have a long rich life and was able to give so much through his acting. Call me crazy but I think that people actually even based some of their ethics on this man's shows.

Yep. Opie learned some good lessons and it instilled something in all of us.

I was expecting him to pass at any time. Just last week I was thinking it was going to be very soon. I had no knowledge about him being sick or anything. I just get feelings about people.
He will be very much missed.
