There are many such blogging platforms like blogger. But as I have no practical experience about them, I am not in a position to make any comment about them. But from different discussions in mylot, it seems that blogger is the best among them.

Blogger is good and very easy to manage, my friend. If you are planning to have a blog I suggest you to have your own domain so that you can manage it well. Blogger is not stable sometimes because if your post violating their terms. Your blog will be deleted without any notice or warning

Blogger is the best free blogging/website platform around. There is really no other sites that offer blogger features for free.

I love it. Several months ago blogger had a new interface and new options for designing a blog. It's so neat, and saves a lot of time!

I think it is the best specially to start with, but the problem is that it is so fun and easy that you will not want to change later. I heard and actually admire wordpress about all they say about it, but I just can't and now after 4 years blogging I'm sure I can't say goodbye to blogger.
