They finally fired the thief!

Some of you may remember the frustration that I was having at work. There was an employee who was stealing from the registers but it could not be proven. Well, we are finally rid of her! One evening, she asked the manager if she could leave early. Apparently, someone had a party that night and it was killing her that she could not go. He said that he would have to see how busy it was later. She kept bugging him until he just said "NO! We have been busy and you have been complaining about not getting enough hours anyway" She was not happy with this answer. During a slower period in the evening, the manager went to do some paperwork in the office. I was busy doing some prep work and another employee was cleaning. The manager came back and said, "Where's Shannon?". Apparently she had just grabbed her things and left! The manager was irate! He wrote her up. When the report went to higher management it was decided that she should be fired! Yippee! And guess what?..... No money has gone missing since she left. Co-inkydink? I think not! I'm a believer that, as the Bible says, "Your sin shall find you out". Eventually, wrong-doers are caught or at least their character trips them up! Sometimes it just takes awhile.

I am so glad, and happy for you. I do remember. I cannot believe that she would just leave. That is so crazy, but great for you. Hopefully it ends most of your problems at work.

And she was shocked that she was fired after walking out of work a hour early!! She lives in a different reality than the rest of us, I believe.

Hi Heidi, i'm a firm believer in what goes around comes around. I'd be glad she was gone to. Her stealing like that could have put all the employeees in jeaopardy. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY.

How did she get away with stealing money from the registers for so long? Did all of the cashiers work out of one drawer together? In all of the places I have ever worked one cashier worked an individual till for the entire shift. At the end of the shift if the drawer was short there was no mistake as to whose fault it was. Any other type of set up is just asking for trouble when money comes up short. I am glad that she is no longer a menace to your workplace.

Without warning her, without giving her a chance of correction, without sending her a show cause notice or without maintaining any legal process, high command fired her?aww.... Life should not be so vulnerable. Life should be inspired, life should be motivated. Every office should have and maintain such philosophy. Otherwise that is but a cattle house.

She walked out on the job! I think that qualifies as grounds for instant dismissal. I think you really need to read the previous discussion about her stealing money from the registers! Good riddance to her!
