Yesterday I stopped by the thrift store just for fun, i looked by the toys section and saw something that catched my eye. In a bin full of plush toys, were a ton of webkinz with the tags still on them for just 2 bucks each. I knew that webkinz with the tags sell for 15 bucks at the store. I took 8 of them and it cost me about the price of one webkinz at the store, i was lucky. I checked on ebay and realised that my webkinz had even more value, they were retired. Retired webkinz are the plushes that the company stops making to make place for some new ones. They become rare and people always search for retired ones. Each webkinz I bought could sell for 20-30 bucks on ebay. Im so happy of my find!

Are they going to grow in value? I have never heard of webkinz but it might be worth holding onto them for a while if they are some sort of collectable. My cousin used to collect loads of fluffy toys (can't remember the name) but she never took the tags off. This was about 10 years ago but if she keeps them until she is 40-odd it could be a pretty penny.

Congrats on such a great find! I have not been to a thrift store in a while. We have hit a few yard sales last year and I found some good items but I do need to go thrift shopping again. I have never found a "wonderful" gotta brag about it deal at a thrift store though. Most of the ones in my area are very picked over. The downturn in the economy has more and more people searching out thrift stores and yard sales.

Wow! Great find. Did you go back and buy the rest of them? You could set up shop on eBay and make out pretty good! I love it when people find deals like that. I love it when I find deals like that!

hey that is great! i once bought a polar bear Webkinz off of ebay. it was several years ago and i cannot remember how much it was but i am sure they are still pretty popular. hope you make lots of money. i would think that if you put them on Ebay starting in the fall, when people are thinking about Christmas, you should make a fair amount of money.

wow what a great find. I am jellious of you. The thrift stores here, most of them do not allow toys anymore because of toy recall etc. The one advantage of this though, is if you volunteer at one, you can get all the free toys that they get in, they just throw them away anyway.

Wow! That's amazing, especially for a bargain hunter. I remember when Webkinz were a big trend, and everyone i knew had at least a couple of them. I'm glad you found some retired ones :) Good luck selling them!
