My dog has learnt a new trick: "spune pa!"

We train our dogs to do different things. Some of them are extremely useful (like "come", "leave it!", "stay") while others are only for fun. My dog loves kids and they also love her. So I thought I should teach her something to please her little friends from the neighborhood. The new trick is "Spune pa!" which is the Romanian for "Say good bye!" I can't tell you how happy are the children when, after a session of petting, Binne says good bye. I'm glad I got that idea. Here's a short (very short, I'm afraid it is too short) movie with Binne saying good bye: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9naJCXAwm2A&feature=youtu.be I am sure you have also taught your dogs a lot of commands. What are they? What tricks do your dogs do? How did you get to the idea of teaching them those tricks?

Hi inu, Pleased to see you and Binne back again. I admire people able to teach tricks like this to dogs : I never managed to teach anything to mines. Yes, it is a bit short, but you have not to be long to say good bye. I have no dog actually, but a neighbor has a dog knowing a lot of tricks and this dog shakes hands to say "good bye".

Hello Topffer, I was busy with the construction site (remember about building my dream house, don't you?). I am back only for a short time. I am sure that you could have taught your dogs to do something funny if you wanted to. You probably missed the motivation. Shake hands was one of the first tricks Binne learned. Kids love when dogs interact with them and Binne loves to please the children.

You finally had enough place for the house in your orchard? Or you have bought another land ? I think I lack something to teach a dog : authority ? charisma ? I don't know. They don't take me seriously.

I did found a little place for the house. The worse part is one of the trucks that brought the bricks ruined one of my trees. I was like mad! The driver couldn't stop paying excuses while I was swearing and crying like mad. I think you never really tried to train a dog. With enough patience, any dog would take you seriously.

Your dog is adorable! I don't have a dog but I know people with dogs and really only one of them was a smart cookie who learned commands. He was adorable too and when he used to do the wrong thing and you would look at him you could see his guilt and he would hide his head under his paws! He got into the bin to lick the paper the turkey came in and ripped it apart and made a mess on the kitchen floor. He knew it was wrong and he'd get in trouble but guess he just couldn't help himself HAHA :D

Ha ha ha! What you call "something wrong" was a perfect hunt for the dog. He couldn't help himself. His nose told him that's something good to eat in the garbage bin. I hope he didn't get punished after his delicious adventure.

Your dog , Binne is so cute! Well, I should have spent more time to train my dog, but I didn't. My dog only knows a few basic commands - heel, sit, stay. "Sit" is the command which she will always listen to. I can imagine how happy the children are when Binne says good bye to them. ^_^

Your dog is well trained that you can say she always listen to the commands she knows. Most of the dogs execute a command only when they know something good is coming (a treat, a toy, a walk...). Maybe you'll find time to teach her some other tricks, only for the fun of you and your family.

Awww, Binne is so cute..I haven't taught my girls much, I mean I am still working on sit/stay, (They sit, but won't stay) and no bark. I don't mind if they bark once to let me know something has changed, but when they continue to bark while I am trying to talk to a neighbor who stopped by, that gets pretty annoying..

Oh I forgot, you know Penny is the only one I will allow to go outside with me and without a leash? Well, though I haven't tried this with people around, but I am able to get her to heel without a leash...

I don't know about that, they still misbehave when they are together. As for Binne's little "moof" that is what I need my girls to do. Thankfully our neighbor's are not on top of us or we would get complaints left and right...

That's great! I am waiting for the moment when you'll say you can heel both Penny and Ciara without a leash. Binne doesn't bark too much. When a strange noise appear at the door, she makes some funny noises like she represses her bark. It's something like "moof!" in a low note. She rarely says two "moof!" in a row. She's the perfect dog for leaving in a block of flats.
