There are lots of benefits of reading. First it enhances our vocabulary. It helps also to understand life and different ideas. It helps to communicate other people. In reading also, it widens our imagination. Through reading, we also know what other people know. We will not be ignorant and we will be able to expand our learning.

i Agree i think that reading is such a great hobby and being able to do it is a great skill. It is a hobby that is rewarding to the brain. I like reading more than watching movies because you controll what you see in your head when you read. You also controll how you precive the characters in the story. It makes me sad that some people just absouluty hate reading. I however think that it is their loss.

A great loss indeed. Reading also disciplines a person. It prolongs their concentration span. Now that's what I really wanted to say a while earlier.

Apart from what you have mentioned, it also goes without saying that.. it trains us to concentrate for longer period of time.

I couldn't agree more! Reading books helps me concentrate on tasks I can't focus on otherwise. Like when I have a story to write and I'm distracted all day, reading a boring book helps me focus and come up with new ideas. It seems counter-intuitive to read one thing and think of another, but that's the way my mind works :)

Yes, but most important is that a study find out people that reads has much less chance to have Alzeimer, wich is the sickness that makes you forget, really sad for the family and all, I think after cancer there's nothing more terrifying than this so it's really a good benefit. Now reading subjects we are not familiar with is amazing, we expand our horizons, and our minds.
