i can believe that that is correct and the popularity has gone down. i am not really sure if they are leaving to go to another site. i do know that a few people have gone back to myspace and a few have switched to twitter. i think that the popularity has gone down because of the new timeline. not that many people like it and it takes forever to load and it messed with the games they play. i also have not been using facebook as much as i use to for the reasons mentioned above. i think that if they will give us the option to go back to the old facebook then the popularity would go back up.

i think what you have said is reasonable. i agree with you about facebook time line, and facebook game. now, facebook just like a group of gamer, so many friend that playing facebook game and disturb our home and profile with any game invitation. that is really annoying. thanks for the opinion friend.

I agree with crazzydolphin...time moves on! It is all twitter and texting now. You can have tons of friends on both. Facebook I think had its hay-day but the next thing is coming on board. THe time line was a down fall to many... I haven't heard a single good thing about it! I know I don't like it... it was just nice and easy to read down...only. NOw you have to go back and forth and remember which you read and where you stopped etc. Time line was not a good advancement for FB. Plus.. and the things FB is now being revealed to doing...I just found out that FB gives you an email addy that you didn't ask for and gives that email as your contact email... and if you dont' know about it, of course you can't check it.. but it is like they are trying to make their own email service engine within facebook. The world don't need another email service! I checked mine and sure enough... there it was. I deleted it. Plus all the info you give there and the sell etc. I know many just do the games. I have one and for family mainly.. and no one ever talks much about anything. They post a quick little one liner and that is it. Like I really needed to know that you are on your way to a cheap lunch or something like that. I did find some friends from my high school years on facebook and friended them but still... no one realy says anything. A birthday will come up and every friend will post a "happy birthday" but that is it! Just a waste of time if you ask me. My 12 yo grand daughter begged me to open account and play farmville with her. I just dont have time toplay the game, but let her set my account and friend the family. I thought to... she and I could have some talks, or at least stay in contact... and she is never on. SHe plays farmville and never checks her posts or messages or anything. I asked her why and she said she doesn't do that anymore.. just plays the game. She texts now. I told her.. why doesn't she email me? She said "Nanny... we dont' email anymore.. you have to text". So I think Facebook has had its hay day... started a trend but is on its way to just being.. "oh, yeah, remmber facebook?". It'll stay around and some will keep up with it, and maybe now that it is a cell phone app it might hold out a little longer, but times change to fast these days int he techo world....remember when we ahd dial-up?

i try not to post a whole lot of game request because even tho i also liked to play the games i didnt like when i got on and all i saw was game request. i usually try to keep that seperate from everything. i honeslty do not think that facebook can regain the popularity because i think it is time for another networking site that will have all 3 (facebook, twitter, and myspace) mixed into 1 with all the best features. *thank you for the best responce :) COFFEEBREAK -- i agree with you 100% on this. usually a networking site will stay popular for a few years and then they have to come up with an even better one. it is like i just mentioned above it is time that they take the best features from 3 sites (facebook, twitter, and myspace) and then put them all together in a new and improved site. i think facebook has over stayed its welcome specially after the upgrade to the timeline. they should have just let things the way they were there was nothing wrong with it to begin with. i will have to check about the email thing because i also did not know they were doing this. how do i find it? facebook is a waste of time. there are a few people that i keep in constant contact with and my husband to but other than that there really is no point in it. some of the posts people post are jsut outrageous and no one really cares or even wants to know about it. i agree with you we are very close to that time and i dont think that it will last to long. the world really is developing fast and technology is getting better and better. dial-up??? haha that has been a while since i heard about that...wow how the times change...

I think Facebook is still popular, although the hype is not as alive as it used to be. I agree about the timeline messing up with FB-surfing. It does take forever to load. I don't quite understand why FB insisted on putting it up when it's obvious some users are not pleased with it. But why would people go back to Myspace??

Several of my friends have left Facebook because of the Timeline, as several e-mailed asking to remove the timeline and Facebook refused to remove it. Sadly, I have a few friends that were mad at me for not replying and I told them to e-mail when they want a response. Some days the top items on my page are a day old, so I don't see the new posts.

for you, time line is the biggest reason why facebook popularity goes down. it is reasonable, and facebook should pay attention about this one. thanks for the opinion.

hmmm... twitter and facebook have been co-working together so that whatever you tweet, comes out of your facebook profile. So I wouldn't say that people have abandoned facebook totally. Just finding ways to avoid their new timeline, which is for me very puzzling at first. but now I have gotten a hang off it and I don't get confused using this kind of medium, so all is well. I never tried myspace before, but I have a twitter account, but I use my facebook more than twitter. I don't feel that the popularity of facebook has lessen in my own area, country, or whatever, but there is really alot of complaints about it from my side of the world. But still like I said, I wouldn't say that it's popularity has decreased her in my so called "area" :)

hi,i agree with that upto some extent, may be due to using facebook for years, people are looking for other new social networking sites ,these sites do not last long for too many years but stands for some years, for example consider orkut it had a huge hype when its launched, now its not been considering in the same way facebook.if people find new and interesting sites then they will sure to move ON.

You see if popularity of FB is going down there are certain reasons behind this, first and foremost being that there are so many social networking sites coming up who are paying for the same work while FB never shares any revenue and then people have so much more options in shape of different other sites which was not available before. But one thing is for sure twitter is totally different in my view.

in my opinion, i think that the popularity may have gone down. gone are the days, i think when even if you log in to facebook everyday, you see a lot of notifications, now people do not log in to mylot as much as they do years back. Well that is for me as far as i am concerned. =)
