what happens when something becomes more frustrating than it's worth?

Perhaps Mylot should ask themselves this question. I'm still a relatively new user here, however, in the three months that I've been here I have had enough frustration to last me a few years.
First the site going down all the time, then when you can get in you can't post or can only use certain features. Now losing earnings. While I am not here for the money, there is still a certain sense of achievement when you see those numbers inch over the payout line. To have that stripped from you is not on.
I went from $12.23, which ensured a payout for me and it was only the first of the month, to $8.71, well below the required amount. Well played mylot, well played. I figured it would all be fixed when I came back on here today but, um, nope! Wishful thinking.
This was a fun site for me but when something becomes more frustrating than it's worth, it ceases to be fun anymore. What's the point? I think I'll take a break. IF and when I come back, if there are still problems then I'll just leave for good.

I'm also frustrated, but I've been on mylot much longer. I think my profile says I've been here four years, I'm not certain at the moment. Within the past few months we've had so many more problems than we had in the four years that I've been here. I don't want mylot to go down because it's been my most faithful earning site up until now. But to be honest, it's getting to the point where sometimes I feel it's more trouble than its worth.

I've seen the site go down a few times, but this year it's gone down so many times, and the past week has been a wreck. And I'm not getting notification e-mails... which REALLY bothers me.
And of course, I know you've always had issues. Haven't you left and come back ten times?

hi ally and lamb I have been here five and the rest was just peanuts compared to the major storm that has crippled a lot
of sites including mylot.us on the w est Coast did not get
to post from Friday night til Tuesday nite at 7 pm,. we
could get on and look but not make any money as we could not
get our responses and comments to post. but i FOR ONE am
not giving up now that it pretty well back to normal with
a few glitches. some discussions will not let me post responses to yet but most will so thats okay. hang in there people.

Hatley aunty:
OH ! internet itself was down in your area for the last few days? that is why you did not come on mylot. I raised this query in another discussion. good. now things appear to be improving.
But in Canada for the last two days we are experiencing intermittent stoppage of internet -- reason not known -- even today morning it was down for a hour or so-- otherwise the speed is very good here -- 16 mbps. In chennai i use to get only 4mbps or 2 mbps speed. here it is good.
have a good day.

I've been on mylot for over a year and this past week was the first time I've experienced a problem this bad. I think all the troubles were caused by bad weather on the east coast (I'm assuming that the mylot server or whatever is stationed there). They got things back up and running pretty well I thought and I liked how they gave us the 4x earning incentive.
Mylot is not a bad site by any means. They do server maintenance all the time and that's why the site will be down for a few hours.
I haven't had my earnings taken from me but I'm sure there's a valid reason they did that. I still have my quadruple earnings from Tuesday. Don't give up hope on this site. I'm sure it's not an easy thing to run so of course you'll experience a few bugs along the way. When it gets frustrating just go away from the day and then come back again the next day. That's what I did this week when I wasn't able to post or comment at all. Things got back to normal and everything seems fine.

mylot is just working out some bugs. you need to be patient. i have been here for 6 years and found that mylot is pretty good at fixing and paying out their people so my advice is to hang in there and carry on as normal. the power outages in the northern US have not helped Mylot i think. that could be part of the issue.

I have never had a problem here in MyLot. The system went down because of thunderstorms in the area. MyLot was not the only website affected by it. As for the earnings, well, I have not lost any. Maybe it is a glitch that was the cause of the site being down. Just send admin a message and explain it to them. I am sure if there is problem they will fix it.

I guess you has a point that some problems will make an activity (such as participating here I mylot) will begin to be frustrating when it is inconveniently repeated without a very good explanation. Although I have not run out of patience, I can see where are you coming from. I have to agree that this problem is becoming more regular recently the in the past and even since I joined this site. I just hope (like everybody else) that this will cease soon. Have you contacted the admin for a explanation for your loss in earnings?

Dear Suebee I understand your frustration. here I am typing away and have a big backlog of notifications from mylot. Sigh. I wanted to do something else this long weekend including Friday and Monday but see me sit and type here all the time.
I hope you wont leave mylot as I like your posts and would like to read more from you. Maybe this helps a bit against your frustration to know your posts are valued.

It does seem that the troubles on mylot might be connected to the terrible weather situation. I would give it a few days to straighten out or maybe even shoot them a quick message and inquire. If in the end, it is frustrating you that much, maybe it will be best to see what else is out there for you. Either way, good luck and have a great night.

Hi Sue,
I hope you don't give up just yet. I've been here a long time and it really is a good place. I agree that there seems to have been a lot of problems lately but that isn't the norm. I don't know what is causing them but I'm going to trust that Mylot will fix them and all will be good again. Don't leave. We love your discussions.

Suebee I have been here for five years and this kind of major upset is relatively new. this in large part was from that terrific storm in the East and mylot was not the only site to suffer either. I know
frustration as I could not post at all even tho ugh I cou ld get on from Fri eve till Tues eve at 7 pml; but I am not giving up on mylot now after five years here. the storm and damage can not be
blamed onto mylot at all.why we lost earnings was that five or six
stupid rule breaking discussions had sucked us all in and they were deleted.I went from 1.31 to 1.03 due to those deletions but I guess I could have been more careful to whom I posted. If we all leave then we have bit our noses to spite our faces as it will collapse. Stay awhile and be patient, it will bet much better.Thats my own
opinion so take it or leave it. lol lol

I have been here since January 2009. I have thoughts of quiting many times! For alot of different reasons! Lately because of all the glitches Mylot has been through recently! This site has been very frustrating lately and like others have said we need to be paitent! That is not one of my best traits! Anyway I am not going anywhere! I will stick it out like alot of the veterans here will!

oh no dear Suebee I just found you and your interesting posts and discussions so it would be a total loss if you give up on mylotting. I was frustrated too I got to admit cause I had taken Tuesday off spontaneously to be able to mylot more and then the site was down all day long. Bummer. But things like this just happen in the computer world.
Hope you re think your decision to withdraw from the lot......
have a wonderful weekend.

When working with something like this I try to take technical glitches in stride. They happen. I don't recall seeing anything quite like it here in the past. What frustrated me was seeing quadruple payout and having a terrible time trying to take advantage of it. It appears to be functioning now and we do still have tomorrow.
I did notice way too many discussions about the problems. Some of those have been deleted because of violations of the rules. My balance fell all of a sudden as well. I kind of expected it though.
