When we hear about vegetables, we usually think that it is healthy and nutritious. Yes, I must agree on that statement. Vegetables are one of the most perfect foods that you can eat daily or regularly.
The other day, I saw on TV that this elderly woman just turned 103 and yet she is still active and able to converse well. Some of the reporters asked her siblings about her diet and they said that she usually eats vegetables; those vegetables that were planted in their backyards. So it means the vegetables she eats are fresh unlike those vegetables that you can buy in the store because some of them though not all were already mixed with pesticides which are harmful in our body.
Well, for me, I think it is possible to live long with eating vegetables alone, although meat is still important in our body because we need protein to repair damaged tissue, but nothing can compete with the nutritious components that the vegetables have. It is a wonderful food given by GOD.

I like veggies and I like meat of all kinds, including fish and sea food. I eat less red meat now that I´m older, but I don´t mind a very juicy steak once in a while.

I often eat vegetables and fruit alone. If my body asks for some protein, then I ingest the protein. If I´m not very active, I can eat only friut and vegetables.

hi,
for me i think eating vegetables alone is not enough to live long because our body also need some meat for our health, because there are some parts of our body that needs the meat for some reason.so for me i think both them are really important but we should avoid to eat many meats and always.

Yes, I think eating fresh vegetables alone is enough to live long because my husband grandmother was a 99 years old, she doesn't eat meat, any frozen and process foods when she was alive, she just passed away 2 years ago. Also most of the elders in my husband hometown aged 90+ still very active and has a good memory, according to them eating fresh vegetables and sleep well are the key to live long. Its very amazing that most of the elder loves to eat vegetables while younger people loves to eat frozen and process foods which very harmful to our health

The benefits of consuming a diet with many vegetables include improved cardiovascular health, sufficient fiber to aid proper digestion, regulation of bowel movements and reduced risk of developing certain diseases. In addition, vegetables have low energy density, meaning that they have high water and fiber content but low calories. You can eat a higher quantity of vegetables and still lose weight. The dietary fiber fills you up and makes you feel fuller longer, reducing your impulse to snack on caloric foods. Eating a diet of only vegetables restricts your caloric intake. It is very difficult to consume enough vegetables to equate the amount of calories your body needs to function well and to keep you feeling energized and alert. To some if they grow old with it then it's easy to survive, for us who eat more meat than veggies it would be difficult.

Yes consumng veggies can help sustain life. However, you aright that most of the veggies sold in the market were already mixed with pesticide to make them good looking. Having your own veggie garden in your backyard is much better that buying it from the market. My father used to plant veggies in our province organically. Without synthetic pesticides. They send us some here in our home whenever got the chance to go here.

The truth is that nothing can ensure longevity in life. One must eat a proper, balanced diet and exercise, but there are other things involved in the equation. Our environment plays a role in our length of life as well. Then there are things we have no control over, such as genetics. People have higher risks of certain ailments because there is a familial history of those conditions. Then there is always the wild card trauma; we can't predict if we will walk out the door and be struck by a vehicle or lightning or some other life ending process. We don't even need to walk out the door, how many people do we hear of that lose their lives in natural or man-made disasters.
Personally I try to eat a balanced diet, but I don't dwell on it, same with exercise, I do it but don't fret over that either. I try to live each moment to the fullest, as it may be my last, that's just how fragile life is.

It should be, but why would you want to be deprived of all of the other beautiful foods that are in existence on this Earth? You wouldmgive an exceptional amount of nutrients but you'd definitely lack a strong source of protein because protein is typically found in meats or in dairy products, I don't know much in this area, but I'm sure you'd be able to survive. I would hate to be dependent upon veggies for the rest of my life lol, I can only have so many in a daily period before I get tired of the heathliness, if that even makes sense.

I believe that each of the food items which we have has its own nutritious value and each of the food items has a plenty of vitamins and minerals in different distributions. So I think it is very important to eat each of the food in a balanced and in a controlled way. Among all the foods available in our surroundings ,vegetables is the best of all. It contains most of the valued items needed for our body.

Theres nothing wrong being a vegetarian but that honestly can not be a healthy lifestyle. Our body needs something in meat that we cant find on vegies alone. I may not be an expert on biology but I do believe according to my personal research we cant live long without meat. To live long is to stay balanced. Coz just like the old saying, too much of something is bad enough. And digging on vegies your whole life is too much. SO thats bad or I should rather say unhealthy.
