a big push from wwe and it should start now in the 'money in the bank' pay per view. seriously, i know santino has been known to play the comic relief in wwe these past few years but the guy has enough in-ring skills to be a headliner in any of the wwe pay per views. the guy has good mic skills and he receives a good reception from fans. i remember santino's first match in the wwe. raw was having a show in milan and vince mcmahon, alejandro estrada, and then intercontinental champion umaga was starting the show. vince issued an open challenge for umaga's belt and santino 'volunteered' and answered vince's challenge. the guy did receive some serious pop from the crowd back then. santino did well early on hitting umaga with big rights and a couple of leg kicks. vince had to restart the match and announced that it will be a 'no holds barred' match and that restart gave umaga the chance to give a beat down to santino. it didn't help that estrada also intervened in the match. right when it seemed that santino will be pinned by umaga, bobby lashley came out and helped sway the tide for santino. lashley, who was then ecw champion, hit umaga with the chair and a spear to help santino win the intercontinental belt. of course, i know that was then and this is now but santino deserves this chance and push. i think that the money in the bank match would be a good launching pad for the new and reinvented santino marella. he did almost win the royal rumble that alberto del rio won so why not have him win this pay per view and let santino challenge for the wwe championship belt or the world heavyweight champion title. its going to take a lot of work for wwe creative to do this but i think if done correctly,it'll be well worth it. so my fellow mylotters, what's your take on this? do you think santino marella can be 'transformed' into a legit and serious contender? if yes, how'd you do it? if no,please share your reasons? feel free to chime in my fellow mylotters. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

I'm a Santino fan too. I know that some wrestling fans don't really care for the comic relief characters but I like them if they're done right and Santino has been done right. As far as a big push though, I don't know. I think he's good right where he's at. He's had a few belts now and the only belt he hasn't had is the WWE or World Heavyweight belt and I don't know if I'd like to see him holding either belt. But that's just me.

hi kenorv. i agree with you that santino is one of the best if not the best comic relief character at the wwe right now. santino is a notch about the jobbers in the wwe and a notch below the headliners. he deserves the big push in my book, how its going to be done is up to the wwe creative and it must be done right. otherwise, wwe will risk losing a character that the crowd loves. anyway, i'd love to see santino as a champion. he'll be a bit serious but he won't lose the funny aspect of his character. like i said, people will need to get used to santino being a more 'serious' superstar and a legit contender for the belt. i think wwe should start throwing around that idea and see the reaction of the crowd. santino coming close to winning the last royal rumble got enough pops and positive response among the wrestling fan forums and i think wwe can give it a go again. hi kul2010. snatino is a versatile wrestler. he is good by himself and he can work well in tag teams. case in point, his team with vladimir kozlov. anyway, i love comic relief characters as well but i'd prefer kozlov to be used as a more serious wrestler in wwe. the guy can wrestle well. brodus clay... really no comment as of now. i think he should have stayed being a more serious contender as well. he reminds me so much of viscera, who is a personal favorite. viscera also went the comedic route during the latter part of his stint in ecw as big v the love machine. the comparison of brodus clay with rikishi is spot on kul. i think brodus clay should balance his act. he can be the dancing funkasaurus before and after the matches (especially if he wins) but in-ring, he should be all business and pinning his opponents with relative ease. thanks for participating and happy mylotting!!!

O___o He experienced the most ridicolous gimmicks through out his career like his Santina Marella, Who is played by him but in Kayfabe is really his twin sister who now a lesbi?n who lives with "her" girlfriend and they adopted a Chinese baby from Bulgaria. Then there is the cobra gimmick which I cant take seriously, but yeah that gimmick is over and the audience seem to like it. I think he is a heel at a certain point and he was a serious wrestler then, He became a Joke when Beth Phoenix beat him in a match but it is the start of the burst of his popularity. To make him a serious contender, have a Heel Bully him in kayfabe to the point he will snap and be serious.

hi capt! how have you been sir? hope you are fine. yeah, i remember that twin sister thing that santino did. it was funny and it had its moments but that got old easily. the 'cobra' gimmick turned out to be his finishing move. the fans absolutely love it. his partnership with beth phoenix was short-lived as well. it kinda reminded me of eddie guerrero pairing up with chyna back then. not really interested in love angels in wwe. that is actually a good point capt, having a heel bullying santino until he snaps and becomes a full-fledged serious face contender. let me think of a scenario and i'll write it up here in mylot. thanks for participating and happy mylotting.
