You are earning if you attached photo in your discussion or response.

Basically, what you have done here is the way one earns. However, the photo should be relevant to the discussion and illustrate the topic. You will earn something from all photos which follow the photo guidelines: http://www.mylot.com/o/photoguidelines.aspx and are uploaded to discussions and Interest categories. You do not earn from photos uploaded to your profile.

All you have to do is upload to your response or to your discussion and you can earn that is about it.
