Wealth , I believe, in one point can have a bad effect on a person. Wealth equates to power and most of the time people tend to struggle to remain in power. Some people would everything and anything to maintain wealth and power. For some, it could make them lazy, knowing that they have the money they don't bother to work or exert effort to do things. They would often ask people to do things for them.

Too much of wealth have the ability to change a person completely. If a person is having enough wealth to satisfy his needs and necessities he will remain with same nature. But if the same person have a lot of wealth, he don't know how to maintain it and spend it lavishly as per as his wish. Also wealth have the ability to change the character and behavior of a person.
After getting a lot of wealth. A person started to change day by day, slowly he learn about bad habits and getting addicted with is. Spend his money in various ways to get happiness, but this kind of enjoyment and happiness may give some health issues. If we have lot of wealth, we must maintain it in a good way and avoid getting addicted with bad things. But sadly, most of the persons forget about this and change themselves a lot after getting wealth.
They think that following this kind of trend will give social status, but in reality it will spoil our good nature and qualities and change our self as a new person. Too much of wealth is a great evil which can change a persons basic nature and behavior. If a person remains in the good stage after getting a lot of wealth, really he is a person to be admire.

Money can turn a person into a harmful animal of society. Money is just an addictive that will gradually tire him, criple him and finally finish him. We should be away a bit from this killer.

Yes it is possible and if you let your money control you then there's no good it will give to you. But most wealthy people are really hard working so that they can keep their status up high. Especially those who really came from very poor families. Lucky are their family and that includes their children. While some teach their children to work hard at a very young, others do the reverse. Since they work hard all their lives, they want their children to live comfortable hence they became happy go lucky. Again, it depends on an individual how they will let money affect them.

We must work hard to survive. We must not work hard to earn money enough to make a crisis.

Personally, I think a lot of it really depends on the person and how they treat their money that they have, especially when they are making more than someone else. Many times I think a lot of it really depends on where they come from. I know there are often people who do act better than everyone else when they come into some extra money, and usually even forget where they come from. But I have met people who have won the lottery who are no different than anyone else, and people you would gladly still want to know.
But look at people like like Bill Gates or Oprah Winfrey who are always giving back to those less fortunate and better off for it. So personally I think it really depends on the person and what matters for them. I know personally if I was to ever come into extra money I would be one always wanting to help others as I love to work with the homeless and give back as I have once been there, and know it is not a great place to be.

Money doesn't change people. It simply allows them to be more themselves.
I already know what I would do if I were suddenly, somehow, wealthy, and it is perfectly in keeping with who I am. For starters, my closest friends who have been with me through thick-and-thin would be right next to me in my new wealth; their bills would be gone, and they could take whatever jobs or volunteer positions they wished without having to worry about their finances.
Nowhere in my plan is me getting a fleet of cars, a mansion or buying a sports team; that just isn't who I am. While I love clothes and books, I am not terribly materialistic; I'm just as happy at a thrift shop as I am at a high-end boutique--perhaps, even happier.

Hello, jsae29. I believe the same thing. I am sure of it. There is a saying, "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil."
I believe also the other saying, absolute power, corrupts absolutely. There is no question, people get lazier and tend to not care about themselves and others.
I do know people who are rich and they help out others and are very active in the community. These people are the ones who know how to live rich. If I ever become rich, I know what I will do with the money. Many say.
Have a great day...

For me, I can't say that money can automatically have a negative effect on a person. In my opinion, it really depends on the person. For example, there are many rich people in the world that started out poor. It was actually because of their hard work that they became where they are right now. But in other cases, having a rich father or mother can make the child lazy. Since he was already born in a rich family, he thinks that he doesn't need to work anymore in order to support himself. But in the end, I think it will really depend on the person. if that person is innately hardworking then even though he is already rich, he will continue making his empire grow thus, creating a legacy for his family. But if a person is lazy, he will just spend that money and will never learn how to earn and support himself. he will just take money for granted and wait for his next allowance money to come. So I think it really depends on the person.

Hi jsae. I believe that everyone would like to be rich. Buat talking about the effect being rich peple maybe it depend how personality of the person. Children who born from.rich parent and never feel how difficult to make money and helper always help them to do manything that they can do, sure they will grow and could be have the bad effect. but if their parent educating them about how to thank, how to use money, how to share atc, maybe they grow as a people who care other and appriciate everyone.

That depends on how a person took power over that riches.
Some people become mean or bad if got lucky getting rich from being poor.
While there are poor people who become rich and remains humble as they are.
So, it depends on each individual person...
Don't let money empowers you..but let your wealth and money do good things to others.

I think it depend on how you earn those wealth. If you earn it the honest way, i think it won't have a bad effect on the person, but if you earn it by stabbing everyone in the back, then it surely have a bad effect on you.

I think money is not for everybody , some people who has won the lottery gets nuts, spending all the money they didnt have before, and they change as persons with others. Some people who are just rich since they are bored they manage the money just in a normal way , but , the problem is that sometimes they dont understand what is being poor . I am glad that some other people know how to deal with money and with people. I wish i could get some good amount of money to know how I will behave , jaajaj . Have a great day jsae29.

I think that money changes people. They always want for more, they would do anything to achieve what they want, they become selfish, unkind, and only think about themselves. However, I know many happy cases in which people stayed the same, though they started earning much more money than before.

Riches does not play any role in degrading or upgrading personality. Our personality depends on how reasonably we realise the world and its different totallities. Anyway our ill craving for gaining or getting over riches is a sin. Because it creates a shortage of riches in others resulting in a deterioration of others' well being, well going and developement. This deterioration is a lethal boomerang will hit me back today or tomorrow. I think nature itself is a perfect revenger.

Total matterial riches on earth is limited and we must share this limited matterial riches equally regardless of what different capacity of gaining the riches we have. Rather we may have a craze for gaining the intellectual riches. We can crave for a nobel prize etc by creating science, literature, philosophy etc. We can appear in an unlimited competition of gaining intellectual riches. Because this intellectual riches is unlimited.
