On the 4th of July I took close to 900 shots of fireworks using my Canon 50D and a Tamron 18 to 270 zoom lens with image stabilization. I did not have room to set up my tripod so I braced myself and shot hand held. The results amazed me. I got about 45-50 really great shots showing the color and shape of the firework. I have posted on for you to see and will try to post more.
I was surprised at how good the shots turned out. Hope you enjoy.

A Firework is a rocket that is fired a few hundrde feet into the air and then it explodes. When it explodes There are many smaller chemical explosions which result in the colorful desplay you see in the pictures. The color comes from differnt chemicals and metals buring.

That's a good one!
I did the same for New Years eve, I decided against balancing a big tripod down by the river on the ice and snow and went for high ISO and hand held camera. I got some good shots, but it took quite a lot of time to sort out all the other ones :-)
Fireworks in July would be a bit pointless here, it's so light in the night that you'd see the black clouds of smoke better than the fireworks.

that is real fun and the fireworks are the biggest and greatest spectacle on earth and i love watching them, adjusting the iso sensitivity will give more sharper and clearer pictures with good clarity for fireworks anytime and i also do that if i am free at times
