before when there were only few phones that can be used for internet, i would be so excited to use it for accessing or browsing the net. i would be so happy watching youtube on the small screen. and i would be so amazed and so excited and was so proud of the capabilities of the phone. but now it seems every body has it. i don't like it anymore. Although it can still be cool as i can download something on my phone like songs but i can transfer from pc downloads to my cellphone anyway.
I don't care if my next phone can't have internet. as long as it has beautiful screen and takes picture nicely and touchscreen most importantly.

i am not able to surf the internet through my phone because I have a simple phone. even if I have a high end phone I will still prefer to have my internet surfing at my netbook because it has a wider screen and I am too comfortable on it

I feel the same way. I used to be amazed at how phones could be used to browse and do so much things on the internet. But now that I have it and have had a lot of those types of phones, I no longer feel the need of using it as online browser. I'd rather go online using the pc - I don't even like doing so in the laptop.
Perhaps it's the insatiability of a person's wants. We always crave for something we don't have only to realize that we don't really need it after we got it.
Don't get me wrong, I love my phone. But I don't do much with the features that I wanted from it in the first place. Not to mention that I just hate charging the damned thing, so I would try to minimize unnecessary uses.
The next phone (I hope I don't need one), would be something basic with clear screen. No internet. No 3g or 4g. No need for touchscreen (except of it's an Apple again). Anyhow, I don't need a new phone. I need more money for something else! A car perhaps!?
hehehe..
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

and it should make the price of the phone much cheaper if there is no internet feature. as long as the camera is quite okay i would love it. my brother is going to give me an Iphone, but i am not excited to have it actually. but i don't want to refuse it since it will make him mad if i refuse it. since he wants a new phone. so he wants me to have his iphone soon.
last time he was leaving his tablet with me when he went back to canada. but i said i didn't like it , but he was so disappointed. so i said, okay, leave that tablet with me. i will try to use, then after a while i love it , because of the upgrade on the OS it became better. then he was happy that i loved it already.
so i will have an iphone soon justso to accept the gift. but for now i am just happy with my basic phone. an old school. this was the old phone of my other brother, since he has a touch screen phone, i asked him for the old phone since i didn't have a phone that time.

I never really liked smart phones in general... Only reason I had one was because of my work... And it was mainly because of email capability... I've gone through few blackberries & iPhones... Since my position @ work changed, I don't travel as much so I've changed my phone to basic... And I got an iPad... I find iPad to be more helpful in my case than a smart phone...

While moving on vehicles if we feel to take a look at mails or little search in internet, its mobile we have to take help of. There are not all reasons available to ignore mobile phone.

i use my phone for internet if i am a bit lazy to open my laptop. but if i do want to work as much as i can with mylot or to fully see the Facebook pages or do some good researches, i really open my laptop and do not do it on my phone... that is because the phone has small screens. and sometimes when there are a lot pages opened it would just shut down on me and would be forced to close on its own.

Hi hostsummer, I would be regretful if I don't bring my notebook along spending vacation here. My hubby has a new smart phone with 5.3 in wide screen. It would be handdy for me to get on the internet using it. Fortunate that I like playing geme stored in my computer game, and I dumped it still into my luggage when packing.
When having breakfast in an outlet, I suft net with my notebook and type and send a myLot post without any difficult. I tried to do the same using my hubby's latest smart phone then. May be I'm not use to the tough screen, it seems too sensitive and the opened page would get lost very fast. It was really irritating as this happens every now and then. I fell fed up and give up for not wasting my limited time. I'm happy using my notebook typing this post fluently at present
We need some time to explore the new features and function of a smart phone often. Yeah, with lots of experience and practices we then could manage to handle the advanced smart phone well I suppose. I would bring along with me a smart phone instead if I really can manipuliate it like what I do on my notebook
Happy posting

I think I've only used my phone twice to access the internet. Actually, I didn't surf using my phone. I only attached it to my laptop and used the network I'm subscribed to access the internet. This was when my broadband's signal was intermittent. I'm not really comfortable using the phone to surf. Even if my phone's keypad is QWERTY, I still have a hard time typing in the words :( That's why I'd rather use my laptop since the keys are bigger and easier for me to use. My phone's just for calling and texting :)

I don't use the internet on my phone all that much, but it does come in handy when I am gone, and not near my laptop. I will use my phone for the internet when I am not home, as I can do the sites I am a member of. It is much easier on the laptop, that is for sure, but I like to be able to access it when I am not home. I feel that smartphones are a convenience in that way. It seems that cell phones are getting more technological, and hard to keep up with it all, that is for sure. Since I do have a smartphone, I would never want any other phone, especially when it comes to the internet. Take care, and have a very good day.

I agree. I hate getting on the web with my phone. It isnt that its slow, but that it is very small and I can not type with those small letters.
That is why I love my laptop. I really enjoy the large keys, and that I can look at a big screen instead of this small screen with not much on it.
I use my phone to make calls, and nothing else, now that I have this computer.

I don't like using phone for internet either. It is slower as compared to a normal computer and the screen is so small that I can't even see the whole page. I need to scroll left and right to read the text and down and up to search for something important. Another problem is that I am now using Nokia and as we all know, nokia is famous for its lagging phone. Even opening a browser alone will take up to 1 min and that really makes me so frustrated with it. So, if ever I have the choice, I will just stick to my computer screen and find all the documents that I need.

Personally I love being able to use the internet where ever I am. Whether it's to gamble, check sports scores, sit on forums, play games, e-mail, social networking or just watching videos it's a brilliant feature and one that I use a lot. I've recently been using my phone to watch netflix in bed with out needing to get my laptop.
Most phones now will have very nice touch screens and should take at least 5mega-pixel photos (with the industry moving towards an 8MP standard) so you neednt' worry about them :).
