Rude drivers

They make me crazy! There are some drivers who think they are superior to pedestrians and bike riders, and it really bothers me. Yesterday I was walking my way to the metro station. I got to a crossing, where there are no lamps whatsoever. A car arrived there, too, stood there for a while. I started to cross the road, and THEN the car turned in my direction, almost hit me, and after all, he was hooting and shouting things out of the window like I was the unthinking one, when he didn't even INDEX! Also, one time the traffic light was green for us (a friend and my mom), and an idiot came out of nowhere driving twice as fast as the laws restrict it in the cities... and if it wasn't for my mom's fast reflexes, at least one of us would be dead by now...

I'm not speaking majorities here but i'm a driver too. My driving experience is about 17 years with 0% accident. And i'm not driving around our village dor 17 yrs but i drove most off the times in the city all the way to our province and back! That is a 6 hours drive and most of the time i usually been driving together with bus drivers, truck drivers who think of themselves as king of the roads. Anyway, my rantz here is that these ruse drivers your talking about often thinks how stupid women drives. Its just not fair when they saw you as a woman they would actually nag you and cut your way. What i do is fight them! I don't give in with their nagging, ( thinking about my car insured... Lol!) bump their cars to mine if they have the balls to do so!

Oh my, I abbbbbsolutely hate people dissing women and their driving styles! Especially chauvinist, women-hating men. Most women may have problems with parking and drive slowly... but it's men who are more likely to drive drunk... but this they don't even think about... just they see someone driving the car in a funny way, and "It has to be a woman"... I hate sexism...

BULLSEYE Doroffee! I hated that too. That's why I always prove them that women can drive skillfully too and could match their speed and strategies... with 0% accident.

well, it happens in here everywhere on streets...i am very scary whenever i go out...because i may get accident anytime... I am very impressive with Singaporean drivers, i remember i went cross a street and when i saw a car, i stopped, but a driver told me go first, he waited till i went cross a street before he continued to go. Korean drivers do like that also...

In my country, thank God, the driving isn't that dangerous, but I always look out for aggressive drivers, because you never know... idiots are everywhere...

That's how people act these days my friend. In fact, it is sad to say, there's no more safe anymore in our place, even in our own backyard. Let's just be careful and vigilant if then we still hit by this people it would just be minimal or less than without precautionary measures we've done. Take good care always.. Yes there are rude drivers everywhere and it's annoying when they're the one who feels mad even if it is their fault. There are many rude drivers here in our place too, so we must be very careful when crossing the street especially at night time :)

Nighttime I don't even walk alone if I don't have to. It's just scary... because of the drivers AND shady people.

I hate those rude drivers too who acts as of they own the street, that treat you bad as if its your fault even though uts their fault. Sometimes they stiol hve the guts to get angry even though they are the one who commit the mistakes. It is really hard to avoid so I do always long patience and dont mind them at all but they should be punished for them to learn and realize their mistakes and bad acts.

Hi friend, sad to hear about this incident. Some drivers are in this sort, they never accept their mistakes and blame others for their fault. Luckily you don't face any accidents.

Thank you for the sweet words. I hope so that I don't meet any of these drivers anymore or that often.

Depending which City you are in anymore it is continuing to get even worse. Many times you hear of people being hit and killed even in crosswalks and it makes you wonder. When we were in Chicago visiting, they even tell you to watch for cars as they have been known to hit people. So you just learn to be cautious, and hope for the Best.

Hi doroffee, There are rude and inconsiderate drivers all over the world. However I guess some countries have more of these badly behaved drivers than others. I think the key to safer and more pleasant experiences on the roads will result if both education and strict enforcement are in place. But this is easily said than done as most government do not have the resources to achieve this. So until the situation improves, it is better to be safe than sorry. Be extra vigilant and watch your step. Have a good day.

M y country's government now is making a program for safer traffic, but I think the best solution would be to make the rules of getting a driving license stricter, especially when people are doing their "live test" on the roads. Because now they are paying money for simulators and stuff for kids and teens... which is great that they teach kids to be more suspicious and thorough, but that's not enough. Well, I'm still grateful that they are doing something about this issue. I'm always cautious, but you never know :S.

Hi doroffee, I can definately understand what you are saying, an rude drivers making you crsazy...their are some drivers who tend to think that the streets belomg to them and anyone else on them is trust passing against them..they just seem to not csre about others... It is really scary crossing or attempting to cross the street at times.. I am happy your mom had quick reflexes...

Dear Doroffee, I read your this post two month ago. I once saw some rude driver before, no matter in China or in the foreign country. People should learn to control them-selves well. Otherwise, they will make risk for others and even themselves. Some people may be rude to the person who is walking on the road because of their bad driving habits. Some may be just because of they are in bad mood by coincidence. But any way, every one must control themselves no matter what situation they are in during the driving.
