Opps..this is not about the 4x earnings :p There is a common belief and superstition here in our country that to avoid something bad to happen you must/should knock on wood 3x. I wonder what will happen if accidentally you knocked it 4x and you forgot that you are not knocking on a wood surface or furniture but an iron bar or plastic container- hehe. My cat is licking its paw facing the window, so I was thinking of a visitor knocking at the window instead of knocking at the door It's weekend again guys and wish everyone to enjoy the extended xxxx earnings jaiho®- leaving for a holiday..see yah guys 7-6-2012 6:50pm PT Friday

Hi my lady! :) I didn't know that there's a limit in knocking on wood. I knocked on wood many times and I didn't bother counting. LOL! Sometimes these beliefs in our country is funny. But there's nothing wrong in believing in them! :) TGIF!

The origin of knocking on or touching wood for luck or to bring luck appears to date back to times long before Christianity when people worshipped trees and believed that each tree contained a spirit or guardian. Knocking on or touching a tree (or wood from a tree) would, it was believed, call upon that spirit for protection and help in our endeavours. Many superstitions involving touching something are very persistent and people clearly think that power flows merely by making contact with something. This is even mentioned in the Gospel story of someone touching the hem of Jesus' garment and being healed.

Hahahaha! Whatever.... just bear in mind that superstition are not at all true. To all those who still believe in superstition, please wake up and get out of that backward mentality, they are all just products of ignorant old society. It will not do you any good. No amount of knocking can turn a person into a frog only a tadpole turns into a frog in due time (not by knocking three times.) hehehehe

Well it's nice to know you are not one of those believers of superstition. Indeed man still believe in superstition and rituals and many non-sense beliefs that deprive them the liberty that they should rather enjoy. Sadly they are constrained by wrong beliefs all because they don't get the right teachings.

hello salonga, Well like I wrote...I wonder what will happen if someone accidentally knocks 4x someone - I am referring to someone because I don't believe. I was not raised believing superstitions (I don't belong to a sect that believes in many superstitions and rituals etc.) But since these superstitions and lot more exists here in our country, I found it good to discuss and to know others opinion...sharing,inter-act, which is all about mylot. thanks and have a great day

Hi bonita that's one of the superstitious beliefs of all non-believers. It would be believable if you miss one knock or more there would really happen. Since there is nothing would really happen (ever)this is only a hearsay not really true. Thanks bonita for responding, happen weekend too to your family. Mobhomeir here 070612 2132hrs

Jai sis, so far i haven't this type of superstition yet. Sounds very interesting and seems dangerous as well. Have you tried knocking on the wood for 4 times and see the result? Hopefully, not someone turning into a frog. Or else it would makes us feel sad lol... By the way, how to communicate with a frog?? Have a nice day...

I've seen some people doing it too. At first I thought it's just a habit, later on did I found out that it's some kind of a wish. Yes, a common belief passed to us by our predecessors, our ancestors which I guess is still much practiced today. The common number is 3x but I guess there's nothing wrong if it's done more, maybe it could be more favorable.

hi jaiho I am nine months late b ut we have that superstition here in the US too about knocking on wood so nothing bad will happen. Sometimes we say that after we have bragged about things going so good then we say knock on wood. I think its just one time here as I never heard anything else but just knock on wood. One time I knocked pretty hard and I actually broke my little finger. My doctor had a good laugh from that..

Well, this is really just a superstitious belief and I don't believe in such beliefs. The things will happen according to the god's decisions. Those decision won't change if we knock the door 4x or 3x
