hi twb, You can alter the shirt so it will fit you correctly Actually I do appreciate all the things that was given to me even I don't use it I keep it because the essence of someone remember me and give me something is really a touchy one. Even you give me a stone if it is comes from your heart I will keep it. happy mylotting

I've always found ways to make something out of a gift I'm not fond of. Usually I give it to someone who would have some use for it. This goes true with big shirts given to me. I find someone whom I think the shirt would fit better and give it to that person. But if the shirt's a bit expensive (branded ones that cost more than $100), I usually have them altered. One last recourse is to sell the item.

You can grow bigger and then wear it or make it a gift to somebody else and make him as happy as you when you first got it. Life is about give and take. I am sure you will feel happy when the person you give the shirt to is happy.

Couldn't you wear the longer shirts as p.j. or something? I know about bad gifts, though. Class Christmases/Secret Santas are the worst. There I got like shower gel at 12 (I couldn't help but think that it's rude and it's like I smell bad and don't bathe which isn't true), a teddy bear whose head was almost torn off, chocolate with an expired expiration date and stuff.

Hello thewonderboy It saddens me to hear that the gift of the long shirt is causing you grief, but it is so good to hear that your uncle was kind enough to remember you while he was in Saudi. It is so nice that he gave you the chocolates and the shirt. He meant well and he obviously loves you, so this is all good. Once, when I was a child, an aunt gave my brothers and I a cartridge to a video viewer, but no viewer. How could we watch the cartridge with no video viewer?? It was impossible. Still, we kept the cartridge and one year later our aunt gave us the video viewer. We were so excite! We were finally able to watch the video cartridge (we had saved it all that time in the hopes to view it one day.) Peace

i have had gifts at Christmas that i have not always been that keen on and i have regifted them (given them to others as gifts) but if you see your uncle a lot, you may want to hold onto it and wear it when you see him. if you don't see him often, you could give away your shirt either as a gift or donate it to someone that is needy.

Long shirts are very much in demand here in the US because they stay tucked in much better whether you're wearing jeans or dress pants. If you just want to wear them outside your pants, hem them up. If you don't sew, find someone that can--it won't cost much because it's a fairly quick and easy job. I'm sure your uncle had the best of intentions, you are just a victim of fashion trends!

Pass it on, give it to someone who is taller. Or wear it as a night shirt to sleep in.

wb, good to hear that your uncle is returned from gulf and bought a lot of gifts for you, unfortunately your surprise gift gave disappointment to you, sorry to hear about this. Don't worry dear, it will be apt to you after some time, just keep it safe. I received some surprise gifts from my wife and all of them are great, she knows about me well and provide the shirt for my size.
