That sounds like the school was having a really lovely ceremony to show the opening of their new program. I definitely remember when I was younger that I really did look forward to things like this that were going on either where I was going to school (in a different city) or around the town that I was originally from. When we had things like that which were going on, I always made sure that I was able to take pictures of those events.
