I'm pretty sure this is possible because if I'm exposed to loud music for too long it gets irritating and I love loud music! I got bass in my car, top of the line headphones, and I love to go to concerts so I'm always being exposed! After some time I must take a break though or my ears begin to hurt and I get a very strong headache. I would hate to get disease or strain from music and I have a playlist full of relaxing and calming music to transition too if I'm tired of loud music and just want to unwind.

I heard Bass just massages your ear drums ;) so I have the treble turned down and the bass booster up so my car can bounce as I drive

I don't agree with that, You have to listen to Music for a while at a very, very high volume to have any damage.

Hello natliegleb, I feel very much calm and cool when I hear music for a few minutes. But, I haven't listen to music more than two hours continuously. I think listening music at very high volume for hours may make either mentally or physically unfit .

Yeah indeed listening to loud music for a long time aches your ear drums and in fact listening to loud music very close to your ears might also affect your hearing capacity.

i agree with your view, but hard rock are good to hear than slow and rhythmic beats,so i am attracted to hear it in maximum voice, what can be done for it?

I honestly think it means when it is too loud our if you listen with earphones. Many of us do not realize how sensitive the ear drums really are. I had, for about 10 years, a very loud(and expensive!) stereo in my car. The kinds with really loud bass and treble. Well, I am now almost 40 and my ears ring constantly. I have seen an ear doctor whom has informed me, I have permanently ruined my hearing and if I continue listening to loud music, I will soon lose my hearing all together! It is scary stuff! I no longer listen to loud music, and when I do use my iPhone for music, I make sure it is very, very low. Sometimes, we just don't realize what we are doing to our ears before it is too late.
To be completely honest with you, I don't understand why, people listening with earphones, have to have their music so loud, you can hear it over 10 feet away! To me, this is really unnecessary! Our ears are needed so much and to all of a sudden have no hearing - that is one of my major fears in life! That, and going blind.
My advice, turn down the music so the next door neighbors don't hear it, or turn down your earphones so someone 10 feet away can't hear it. Also, ensure you do not do it for more than 2 hours a day if you are going to listen to it quite loud.

well nowadays earphones are inevitable and no one can avoid it,even if you walk in a crowd many people love to hear music only in earphones and so it has become a fashion statement,i suspect everyone has to talk with others more to avoid discomfort

hi,
is that true because younger sister always have an earphone in her ears because she listen music most of the time, the only i noticed to her was her hearing get gradually cant hear sounds in a small vocalization,i think longtime hearing of music especially through earphone can reduce the hearing ability of our ears.
