Weird State Laws

I love reading the crazy weird state laws for different states. Who created these and why are they still around lol...
Here are a few from Wisconsin that I love.
1) Whenever 2 trains meet at an intersection of said tracks, neither shall proceed until the other has
(Really?? how can they ever get going again!!!)
2) It is illegal to serve apple pie in a restaurant without cheese
(sounds gross but I tried it once and it is actually good)
3) Livestock have the right away on public roads
(so if I hit a cow that I don't see till it is too late in the middle of the street it is my fault??)
The laws make me laugh and I wonder how they ever become to be a law that was passed. What are some of your states funny laws that you have seen??

I know. Funny ones. Shows how times have changed! But it happened to me once... my son brought home the baby duckling they hatched in school for science class. We had a 5 foot cinder block wall all around our house. We kept the duck in a large chicken wire pen during the night and out during the day. He was a best little pet! The guy across the alley behind us was a menice in the neighborhood and decided to complain about the duck. Animal control came out and gave us 30 days to get rid of the duck. We went to ALL the neighbors (34 total) with a petition to allow us to keep the duck saying they didn't have a problem with it. We took it to City Council to get the abduction waved and keep the duck...and this guy went back on the city law books to 1899 when it was illegal to bring farm animals into the town limits! And the city council upheld that law and we had to get rid of the duck! Made front page two times and the public forum comments section was full of how disgusting this was...but we had to find a home for the duck....all cause one guy was the neighborhood grouch and had nothing better to do with his time. This is in southern california too...1993!

omg that is sad! No one else in the area cared why should the city!! And the rule was from 1899 come of give people a break lol

We went to the city council meeting and presented the petition and all.. but they weren't going to be bothered to spend their time on something so low budget as a duck.. it didn't effect them. They were a bunch of uppity socialites. But the papers aired it and people weren't to happy! but nothing anyone could do.

I am living in Georgia, but I don't see any weird state laws that make me laugh out loud though. Unless they are unreasonable, and make people scratch their head hard. I would love to see other states, how their state laws differ from each other, and they can be so laughable.

You have Donkeys may not be kept in bath tubs! And no one can carry ice cream in their back pockets if it is Sunday! Those are pretty good ones lol

How funny these state laws are hey. I really laughed thinking about two trains waiting for the other to depart but they don't. They both stay still because neither should depart until the other has. Sometimes laws were passed years ago and are no longer relevant and should be updated.

They really should be updated. They are really entertaining to read and I can't imagine having to abide by these crazy laws!

I totally agree!! Wisconsin especially since we just went through wasting tons of money to Recall Walker!!
