accents

Do you have a difficult time understanding different types of accents? When I watch British movies with my friends, she has a hard time with the accents and sometimes is completely lost. I have little or no problems.

try "trainspotting" or even better, try reading the book.

I can imagine that this is very difficult for many people. We have such a wide range of accents here in Britain, with accents changing drastically within a rather short distance. Of course there are local accents and dialects in every country, but we seem to have a much more diverse selection here. naturally I have no trouble understanding all the accents because I was born here and encounter most accents on a fairly frequent basis.
