Since I've started exercising regularly, I've been working out to Jillian Michaels. She is my inspiration.
Alright, so it sounds corny. I know that she's had plastic surgery on her nose. I know that she sells other products that I am the least bit interest in such as whey protein and all that jazz. BUT...her workout DVDs...they work for me. Before I allowed work to interfere, I had lost ten pounds and two or three sizes by working out to her. I was on my way to 150...and I allowed work and other negative stressors to interfere. Now, I am back on the bandwagon working out to her again...and I have to say...I feel so good. I did one of her workouts today, and I feel like a new woman...and I see the small changes in my body again.
I want to know if anyone else has an inspirational workout guru? Do you believe that their workout DVDs work?

I have 30 Day Shred, and can hardly do any of it!
I like George Foremans "Walk it off" or "Walk and Box." Those are both cardio videos that get your heart rate up, but are still capable for obese people like myself to actually DO.
Well, if I actually had Jillian here in my house yelling at me and insulting me I could probably do hers too....but its too easy to turn off the DVD when it hurts.....

I am going to have to say that Jillian Michaels is an acquired taste. I've seen some clips when she was on the Biggest Loser and how she yelled at the contestants. I was a bit taken back because I own all her DVDs, and the matter, to me, in which she speaks to you when you are training with her is nothing like how she speaks to the people on that show.
I am into her because I really like difficult, complex workouts. Her workouts challenge me. Can I keep up with her all the time? When I first begun, no. I was really overweight and out of breath. Can I keep up with her now even though I've added the ten pounds back on? Yes, I can. I feel like she challenges me mentally as well as physically. For my personality, I need that tough love when I exercise! LOL! However, she is not for everyone. That's the beauty about many trainers having their workouts on DVDs.

I haven't given up on her entirely. Its a dream of mine to be able to go all the way though one of her videos without having to stop at all.
