Do you do that too?

We are watching America's Most Wanted tonight. My husband and I watch it to see if anyone we know is on there and to turn someone in if we have seen them somewhere. You never know these days... Do you watch it to help police? And get a criminal off the streets?

I'm glad Lifetime picked up the show after the FOX Network canceled the show. Fox said the ratings were to low. I no longer watch anything on Fox, as clearly they don't want a show that helps people. Many people have called in when they have seen a criminal and saved many lives. I want to watch a network that is caring and helpful.

Well, I won't be watching it, as FOX is not likely to let the show be available online later, as won't give ratings to FOX. FOX has canceled to many shows I liked and with no notice.

No, they have already aired "special" episode of America's Most Wanted on FOX. It was an agreement when they canceled it. So far they've just had one special. Apparently they want to do like four a year. The one they aired a couple months ago was pretty good.

I am so grateful lifetime picked it up then because there are so many other shows that are such garbage that we could all do without but such a helpful show like this should be on!! It has helped to get many criminals off the street.

My mom used to love this show. Of course I'm talking about the years before the dementia took over. She would watch it every time it was on. I guess Lifetime has it now except for when FOX does it's special. I like how they were going to take it off like a decade ago, but the FBI pleaded with them to keep it because it caught so many criminals. Now that's TV that makes a difference.

Fox canceled the show said ratings were to low. I strongly doubt any special for the show would air on Fox after the network didn't even try to save the show. Thankfully, Lifetime picked up the show and even reruns the episodes.

I am so glad they kept it on. I was very upset when I heard they were taking it off the air. I am glad they didn't, it does help so much to get many criminals off the street. It is a great show!

I have watched this show for twenty five years but it was never to see if there was anyone on there we needed to turn in. Of course I would have but that was never the reason behind watching it. I would help the police and get the bad guys off the street to be sure.

I like the show to just watch it too but if I ever saw anyone on there that I knew or met at one time I definitely would call. Some of the crimes on there are awful! =(

Yeah, I don't mean anyone super close to us but someone we have seen around somewhere you know? I definitely don't want it to be anyone in our family or anything of that sort. Oh, I hope his brother is not on there and never will be. =(

That is really good thinking. Luckily you happen to be in a country which wants and has good law enforcers. Here at my place, you would be calling trouble if you even thought to call the cops. I have had my bitter experiences and so I stay away from the cops - as distant as I can be (legally)

I heard about the anonymous calls thing being introduced in our Country's Capital - New Delhi on the FM last evening. So I guess, things are changing in for good now. Hope they reach our city too soon. And yes, I did see a few Hollywood movies where someone could dial some number (911, if that is right) and call up cops for almost anything - from reporting criminal information to even calling for health / medical assistance That seems so very good

Yeah, we would love to get criminals off the street. That is for sure. Some of them have done the worst things. Well the hotline to call keeps us anoynomous. No one would know who called which is the good thing. They would never know who it was...

I haven't seen that show in years now. I used to watch it all the time. About two weeks ago they were filming right around the corner from where I live. I forgot about it until my brother told me. But they were done filming. I have to look and see if I can catch that episode on TV. It would be interesting to watch.

I know. It's too bad that I forgot they were filming. I had to go shopping that day so I wasn't home. It would have been nice to watch them film. But i will check online to see if I can watch it online. I don't know how long in advance they film that show. So maybe it will be on in the next season or something.

There is a local version of that show in our country. Not exactly the same, but with the same theme but I barely watch it because I am not really into this kind of shows. I once watched America's Most Wanted, and felt so bad at the victim and so disgusted at the criminal. It really got to my emotions, and that is probably why I don't really want to watch such episodes that much.

Aw, I watch it for that reason mostly. It gets to me too and scares me a little too but I would love to get some of them off the street!

I don't know what I'd do if I found out someone I knew was in trouble enough that they make it to that show. We do need to get criminals off the street but society also needs to do things so they do not follow such a path in the first place.

I would freak out if I actually saw someone I knew on there! So far I never have. I wish there was a way to stop these crimes from happening but I cannot think of a way...If their not afraid of prison, they probably are not afraid of much.

we use to watch it all the time. every now and then will i still watch it tho. i will not say that we watch it to help the police out but at the same time if i saw someone that was on the show i would definately turn them in because they wouldnt be on the show if they were not dangerous. it would be really hard turning someone in that i know and trust but if that is the case then i wouldnt have a choice. i guess it is a little hard to decide what i would actually do if that truely happened to me. everyone on that show has lived some crazzy lives with a lot of lieing and a lot of violence. i am glad i have never encountered someone like this.

Yeah, I would love to know that we helped get a criminal off the street. I don't mean anyone we know that close to us but like someone we have seen working at a store we visit all the time or something. Lol. I definitely hope it is no one we are close with, that would be so hard. I am glad I have never been near anyone like that either. They are truly sick most of them...

This reminds me as a kid we use to watch it. Years ago, my sister and I were watching it. This guys picture and name came up it was the same first, middle and last name of my Dad. The picture sort of looked like my Dad except the picture the guy was black and my dad is white. We sat out in our tent all night thinking my dad killed someone.

Oh my gosh! As a kid if that happened anyone would have thought that. That must have been so worrysome for you! I know it would have bothered me all night too. I am so glad it was not him though, for your sake.

hi lmb....yes! absolutely, i have done this...also because it is interesting...but it really happens, i saw a true crime show about a year ago which told about a lady who recognized her neighbor on america's most wanted and turned him in...come to find out he was wanted in a very famous murder case, he was the perp john list..and he had killed his entire family and fled and took up a job and remarried with a fake name and ssn...well the lady saw a thing about the case on america's most wanted, and they had done one of those age progression mask things and it looked just like her neighbor, who had a different name by that time, but she turned him in...the mask thing looked way creepy and so did the man, the whole thing was just evil, he slaughtered his family and left a confession note to their pastor and then just went on with his life...but anyway i think america's most wanted has done a lot of good...

Yeah I like the show too but I would love to be helping such a great thing, getting criminals off the street. That would be the best feeling knowing that person could not hurt anyone again. Yes I heard of that. She called the hotline and said that man on your show is my neighbor! That must have been SO scary for her! It would have freaked me out big time. Yeah the show is a great one and it has gotten many criminals off the street!

I do this every once in a blue moon, then hope i find someone. Unfortunatley I have yet to catch a sigle one of them. It's kind of sad how long they are allowed to carry on creepy messed up lives without being caught.

We look too but have not found any of them, maybe it is a good thing though because these people are so dangerous! It is very sad how long they get away with crimes, it is crazy! I am glad for the show though because they have gotten many of them off the street already.
