I am a Chinese student,as we all know, education in PROC is laughing stock in the world, the students just a examination machine all the students learn the one same thing, ideological and theoretical, the teachers also is the machine too, they don't take into account how the students feel, and they just works for students' mark. When the examination end,we can throw away the majority of the exercise books and test papers,of course,we will forget many knowledge too,so at last,we just achieve a mark(general situation).
But,I am different with them, include the teachers,I have a dream,is I want to be a music maker. Why? Because I find I have a gift for making music,I think if a people can find what is his/her gift, that is a real people. But, all of them, everyday do many of the papers, the whole they just for one thing, the mark,at last, the just a ordinary people, they has not think deeply what they want and what is their goal of life. So,this maybe an regrettalbe life for me,the truth disappear from me,I struggle for myself everyday and again and again, even want to go to die.How should I do? Who can help me???
Thanks!

Hello pycjm94,i am a Chinese student, too,so i understand your feeling that students and teachers are machine working for marks deeply.Fortunately, you have found your gift at such a early age,but unfortunately, you think you have no energy to bring your gift into play.I am a college student,as we all know the university life depends on oneself to fulfill it,so you'll have much time to make your music-maker dream to come true, right? So do not be desperate or give up,just complete your education first, and then you can calm down to complete your dream.

I understand how you feel. When people have artistic blood, or are extremely spiritual, they tend to see things in a different perspective. They wish to live for their art, much like Van gogh, and other artists. The other poster was correct, it's smart to find a way to survive, and education can give you that. Also, I think you should try to find others that think like yourself. I've NO idea if you can or not, I don't know your real situation. If you do not have a mentor in the arts, or someone that can give you a leg up, via networking, then it's smart to stay with education to find a job. I KNOW how that sounds, especially if you are artistic, the drive to live for the art or spiritual is extremely strong. Please consider staying with your music, as well as with your education. Also, I want you to keep an eye out for any mentors that come your way, they know the ropes and can help you in making music. Remember, to reward your mentor, if you find them, with loyalty and kindness and always be ready to assist them, if necessary. Take your gift for making music, and start making small videos for youtube, start to make a fan base for yourself, it just starts with one person. then another and another. Keep making your music! But pay attention to your education as well. It is possible to do both. Elvis Presely Drove a truck, I believe Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails took a job at a studio and had to clean bathrooms. It's o.k. to work and have your musical passion. I understand about the 'machine' you speak of...well, look at it this way, what you are going through, in your educational system, is choice fodder as subjects for your music! do yourself a favor, and listen to some Nine Inch Nails, and you'll get what I mean :) Take care, dude...good luck to you!

Look buddy, let me get this straight - in today's world, education does have some role to play. So you better continue with that as a normal guy. For your interests in the music, it is good. You can always chase your passions once you have something with you. Right now, concentrate of education, complete the basics at least and get into something which would help you earn your living. Remember - the job is always good as it gives you financial independence to move on to your chasing your dream. But if you dont, in today's world, survival would be a problem and so as long as you dont survive, you cannot showcase your talents.
