The Age Of Ear Piercing

Yeah ear piecing has become fashionable these days. But i have heard that it pains a lot when you pierce your ear. I have never done it. Does it really pain that much?

I got my ears pierced at the age of 5. As a prt of out Indian custom once our ears are pierces we are treated with "payesh"( Rice boiled in milk,with some sugar & dry fruits)to celebrate the occasion.All other family members also also served with "payesh" after their meal to be a part of the celebration. I was gifted with earrings by my grandparents.

I was in 4th or 5th grade when I had mine done. I know plenty of people who had theirs done as a baby.

Well I was in 8th grade when my ear was pierced. It was about 4 years ago. And I doesn't regret it, I still have earing and it looks cool.

My parents pierced my ears when I was 6. When I was 11 I asked for the second holes. By the time I was 15 I had 6 piercings on my left ear and 5 on the right, and my nose. At 17 I got my lip pierced and 2 other places I won't say... lol... When I had my first son I got rid of most of them except my nose piercing and my first 4 ear piercings... Anyhow the majority of people today I see are piercing there babies ears at a couple months old. They say a baby doesn't feel like pain as much as an older child. Plus less chance of infection from playing with them. My cousin just pierced her daghters ears last week, her daughter is only 4 months old. Her doctor told her it was fine... But I will personally wait and ask my daughter when she is older if she wants them.

I had my first ear pierce when i was in highschool. Here in my place, if you're a guy you are not allowed to have your ear pierced but as fashion is so rampant i did my ear piercing.

Hello surveychick4 My ears aren't pierced. I have considered it, but haven't yet done it. By some of today's standards, 6th grade seems pretty old to have the ears pierced. I admit that it bothers me when I see parents having the ears of their babies pierced. One of the reasons it bothers me is because the child has no choice in the matter. But that's just me. Peace
