I am so excited about tomorrow. (later today as it's 01:10) Andy murray is through to the final of Wimbledon, the first brit since Bunny Austin 74 yrs ago!
When i was younger i played tennis 4 times a week and i retain my love for it. To have not just a Brit but a fellow scot makes all of Scotland immencely proud.
I appreciate that he is british and doing this under the UK flag but as a small nation of 5 million scotland is mega proud of Andy. It is not often we have something to shout about!
Do you experience the elation of someone from your country doing well at a sport or do you come from a big country where you expect sucess?
Do you want Andy to win or Roger Federer?
I think Federer is a great player, possibly the best in the last 12 years.
It is late here in the UK so please accept my apologies for not responding to this until tomorrow as i have to go to bed. (unless you are lightening quick)

Yay! Go, Andy Murray!!
I come from a country that is a bit larger in population than your country, ajk111. I never have anyone to cheer for as I prefer to cheer for the underdog.
This is exciting to learn about Andy Murray! I haven't been this excited about cheering a sporting event since Eddie the Eagle!!
Peace

well done andy murray! the psychoartist is not a native scot but hails from a proud scottish heritage and has also married into a family descendant from scots and so feels a kinship and pride with the auld country! in fact mr. psychoartist and i often speak of visiting our ancestral land and even reverse immigrating there...my mother signed me up for tennis lessons as a youth, unfortunately, the tennis instructor asked her to never bring me back after several attempts..humiliating! andy murray must be a genius!

Sports do have a way of bringing out a sense of pride in the places they represent. It is actually a common love among people in many countries and considered one of the forces that unite them in very diverse areas.
I really don't know enough about the tennis side of things to comment on that. My b/f will probably be watching it if it is on though. I will have to take a peek

I thoroughly enjoyed watching John McEnroe play not so much for his game but his reaction every time he lost his cool which used to be at the drop of a hat or shall I say at the drop of a ball!
I am pro a player rather than which country they represent. It is the way how a player plays that fascinates me. At the moment I have not had the time to watch tv but yes, you are right Federer is a great player.

I understand your feelings, Ajk111, because I'm from a little country and every success in a sport make us especially proud. And you have reasons to be proud even after the outcome of this historic game. Yes, the veteran Federer won again the trophy. But Andy Murry is young and they say that he was the favourite of the public. I wish him to win the next time!
