Why do they claim that they are the news headquarters of the Philippines?

I always hear "Ang news headquarters ng Pilipinas" whenever I listen to this radio station. I also watch some of the programs in this station. I wonder if other radio and TV stations are not getting insulted whenever this station claims that they are the news headquarters of the Philippines. Do they have the right to say this?

Take the slogan with a grain of salt. Just do not believe what they are trying to tell you. The other stations don’t care because they are saying the same thing but in different words. They try to market themselves as the best even if they are not really like that. Just look at the two giant TV networks. They both claim the best and perhaps they can because they have a large local following (and even abroad) but if you really try to examine it, they are not really great and more shows in the internet or abroad are way better than what they produced here. When hear slogans like that, it is just a plain ego ride for them. They do not care if anybody believes their claim to fame.

Don't take it to seriously because I'm sure other stations don't. Companies normally come up with names for easy recall. It has to be catchy and unique so people will be able to remember who the company is with just a few words. Just listen to FM stations and you'll hear station IDs ranging from the serious to hilarious. True or not, station ID is just a part of the company's marketing strategy.

Speaking of FM stations, I am really dismayed with the trend. Most DJs are more comfortable and proud using gay language. Aside from this, they're also fond of using words with double meanings. They no longer have ethics. I don't really know why this is happening. Yes. You are correct. It's hilarious!

Well let just say that this is just a plain slogan and one should not be concerned, insulted or whatever since I think for a station to get the attention of their listeners they have to make it catchy and would make a recall when you hear about the word or a phrase. It is like in the TV stations were we have "Kapamilya"(Family), "Kapuso"(Heart), or "Kapatid"(Brother or sibling) to easily identify their stations. Before it was #1 but since everybody is already using this it has become ineffective that is why they have to make a statement that is unique to everyone. In short this is just plain and simple "marketing strategy".

I also find that very funny whenever i hear it, how can news have a headquarters?, news flies and is always current, perhaps what they wanted to say or imply is they have a headquarters for their newsmen and journalists where they gather data, headquarters is for people and not for intangible things like news

I think from each station, there are people who are assigned to listen to other stations so that they'll know how to compete them. Did you notice that they always change time slots of their programs. It's because the other stations also do. Just my thought.
