do you know your neighbors in your condo house? I think most of the people who live in a condo unit do not know their neighbors at all because most of the time doors are locked so only few time they can interact with each other, and therefore, losing also one way of security among all of them...

I think it's okay, however, I think there's no real ownership here. I mean, it's the building, it depreciates. Soon, it'll be destroyed to open a new one - that's the time your contract ends and you'd have to pay again to live there. There's no property contract that says you own that land forever. However, I think it would be okay if I didn't have a family or had no choice. I think it's best for kids to be exposed to parks, land, backyard etc. But if there's no choice, why not? I think the only thing that I don't like about the condo units here in my area is the fact that they will have lots of rules. It's as if you're living in a place where you'd be dictated of what you should do. I have a friend who told me that they'd even dictate the color of your curtain - they're living in a high-end condo and they were told that their curtain should look 'white' on the outside. They did put white but also put red inside, once lights turn on, the red would make the white pink! She was told to put it down since rules said it should be white! Whew! Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Oh my, that's because it's a high end condo. They can't have it looking un-high end like. I believe when they bought it they should have been informed regarding those things.

I don't live in a condo but I don't know either my neighbors by name. I only know them by face, but never got the chance to have small talk with them. I only got few chances of seeing them when I go to the market, or when going to church and met some of them on my way.

I've never lived in a condo. And you are right you may not know many of your neighbors, we didn't know many of them when we lived in apartment buildings. But one would think people in a condo would be more considerate and worthy of getting to know than someone who's renting and are not always worth getting to know.
