Doing rewriting tasks on Mylot

Hi Mylotters,
Of late I have been doing the rewriting tasks that appear under the Tasks tab of Mylot. So far I have managed to get them approved. I sent in one rewrite of 400 words today. If it gets approved I will get $0.25 for it. Of course it will be added to the Mylot balance. I feel that the rates being offered are particularly low for the amount of work that needs to be done. However, I do love to rewrite articles and so I cannot let these tasks go when I see them available. Also, the few cents add up.
So, have you taken these rewriting tasks? What are the rates that should be offered in your opinion?
Please share your thoughts.

The rewriting tasks (at that rate) isn't something I'd personally attempt to do myself. For me, it's too low a rate. I've rewritten for much more than that. It might be rewriting and in your case it might be enjoyable, but it doesn't mean it shouldn't pay more (and well). I've created a forum post for near enough the same amount of money and that was a couple of sentences. The rate for rewriting should be at least half a cent a word (in my opinion). I wouldn't rewrite for half a cent per word either, but it's a start.

There, right you are! Of course these task creators should consider paying some more money. I am sure they are benefiting from our work. Where have you created a post and earned money? I am interested if you would share. Half a cent per word would be great for writers like me. But I never seem to find such paying rates anywhere, even outside of Mylot. Any suggestions on that my friend?

You're welcome.
What I'd recommend that you do with Digital Point is join and study it for about a week or so before you start applying for anything - get a feel for the forum's flow and character.
Good luck.

Yes I have done them too. I did them a few months back when I wasn't in the right mood to participate in discussions and sure enough they soon added up in my earnings.
I have no idea what the correct rate should be. I think that the rate for writing an original article should be much higher than the rate for just rewriting one so I guess that 25 cents is not bad as it doesn't really take a lot to change the words round so that they have the same significance. Writing an article from scratch would be different.

Nice to know you have experience in this. Actually I got a bit tired of responding to posts so I wanted to do something different for a while and when I checked the available tasks I found this one on plumbers. Certainly the rates for original articles are good. But for that we need to research on the topic provided. However, it took me a little time to change the structures and rewrite it fresh since the article was written in a way to demand so. Some articles can be tricky indeed. Also, it can be rejected for even the minutest plagiarism. So I tried to do it well. Let me see if it is approved. My last rewrites all got approved and this one was from the same person.

That user posts many of those rewriting tasks and I find them worthwhile. They are a rewarding alternative to discussions.
Good luck with the ones that you have submitted!

Hi friend! I have seen loads of rewriting tasks here in mylot but I haven't done any of it. Maybe because I'm really not into writing, hehe! It takes a lot of mood before I can write one article.
But I remember I have done rewriting tasks in microworkers and I'm so happy to have seen that they are all approved by the task creator. I was thinking it wont be approved so I copy pasted it so I can just publish it on EC or in triond but fortunately,it was approved, yahu! The rate was $0.75 for 200-250 words and it's a big add-up on my earnings on that site.

They do pay us through paypal before but then it changed. They pay through payza or moneybookers. I like the site so I have no choice but to open an account in payza(formerly alertpay). And it's fine with me 'cause there are friends who like to exchange funds with me from payza to paypal.

Hi friend, good to hear that you are attending the rewriting tasks, as you mentioned the rates are really low, so i am not interested in taking that job. Really 25 cents is very low for a 400 worded article, some sites provides a dollar for writing 200 words article, but it must be unique with our own words, if it is a rewrite task then 25 cents is good for 200 words article

I think the rates should be higher since it is a bit hard to rewrite stuff. people who want their things written again also have many rules. But I understand these rules so that there will be no mistakes in the rewriting process. five hundred words is also long in my opinion. One page is like five hundred words. SO I think the pay must be higher. This is just my opinion. Yes, i have written but i was rejected. haha better luck next time. happy mylotting, friend!

Yes 500 words is long. We need some time to write such an article. The sentence structures have to be changed but the meaning cannot change. I wish they paid more per article. Keep trying my friend. I am sure you will succeed next time onward. Good luck to you.

Hi,
The task I am talking about had only one slot so you don't see it anymore. But if you check back the available tasks under the Tasks tab daily, you would certainly be able to find a rewriting job. No research needs to be done, plain rewriting. But no sentences can be copied and one has to be very precise when rewriting. The rewritten article's meaning has got to be the same as the original one but the sentences structures and framing will be different. The task I did also mentioned that no meaningless synonyms should be used to re-word a sentence. Right now I can see an available task under the Tasks tab. May be you would like to check if you are online.

For a 400 word rewrite $2 is the reasonable reward. I would still take it if it's at least $1.5 but will not go for it if it's anything less than 1.5$.
I don't work on the Internet full time.

2$ is indeed very good compensation for a 400 word rewrite! I have never even got 1.5$ for such length of words. The maximum I have got for a 400 word rewrite outside of Mylot is 0.85$. Any suggestions on where I can find rewriting tasks for the rates you have mentioned? Please share.

I think they should give us mylotter a rate of 2 dollars per article, 25 cents is too low, it is not worth it, but if you are indeed working for pleasure then it does not matter, rewriting articles is hard to me, I have to think of words to write the whole article again, which I think I could not think any possibility right now, maybe in the future I will try to rewrite article.

Yes my friend, I was working for pleasure as you say. I actually do enjoy rewriting articles and I do them sometimes even outside Mylot. But no matter what, the rates of rewrites are always low. If one can write fresh content, the compensation is good. But I have no patience to research and write. Hope you will try this type of work one day and share your experience with us.

Hi oindy54,
Hope you don't mind me asking: How long does it take you to rewrite a 400 word article? I think if it takes you about 10-20 minutes then it's probably worth your time as you'll also get to practise while earning some spare change. But if it takes longer than that perhaps the rate is too low. Just my thoughts.

Hole in one, Oindy. But maybe some people who set tasks on mylot simply cannot afford to pay proper rates (The minimum wage in my country is over $9 per hour by law, but the cost of living is also quite high, so there isn't that much spare money around). If I were into rewriting articles I would not turn down $0.10 an hour from someone in, say, Cambodia or Burkino Faso.

9$ per hour is so high that I will never dream getting a task like that. I understand that the cost of living is high. I checked your profile to see your country. In general Mylot tasks are low paying. I have no idea about the creators and I think you are right, may be they cannot just afford to pay more than they do. Thanks for your response.

Hello Oindy,
That is the reason i don't do Mylot tasks they really pay very low.I just do some simple tasks.I know it takes lot of time to rewrite articles i would prefer to devote that much time on the forums and think i would earn more than what i would earn for rewriting.

Hi oindy54,
I haven't been doing the tasks. It's great that you've found a writing avenue that you enjoy.
I think that's important to do what you enjoy doing. Then if you receive some financial compensation, that just sweetens the deal.
Thanks for the information and for a great post.

Yes, that ammount is too small. Maybe they should increase the money to 1 Dollar. I think that writting is not a simple thing to do, we need to put our mind and concentration in it, especially rewriting, it need a skillful person in english language too, right? Btw, cheers to you, enjoy the earning :D

Yes my friend. The English needs to be free from grammatical and spelling mistakes. Or else they would reject the article. Your points about concentration are so true. Indeed one cannot have his or her mind elsewhere when rewriting. It needs to be done precisely. 1$ would be a good rate for 400 words. Thanks for participating.
