You are right, Anilkumar, we shouldn't get impressed by these people. But sometimes they succeed in promoting themselves and they get ahead. One of my co-workers is just the type you describe. He is a master of all the popular cliches but there is nothing behind them. Many people see this but he has earned for himself a good position. But I wouldn't like to be at his place.

I think people like that tend to be empty inside - if that makes sense?

Hi anilkumar,
What I say about people like that is the very title of your post - Don't get impressed by these people.
Not only am I not impressed by them but I'm quite turned off by them.
They show no humility and they have what is called superiority complex. In other words they have to make themselves feel superior to others by making others feel, how should I say? Well they make others feel stupid.
I avoid them at all costs.
I also think that they suffer from insecurity. I just don't have any time for that.

People that act like that usually have slips that are a 'tell' things that make it obvious that they don't know everything. And because they act like they do know everything it makes it more like this huge blaring neon sign.

Hi anilkumar15. In real life, I know some people who really like to brag about what they know and really tends to show off. But here in mylot, so far I have not met one yet. My experience here is that you will post comments on discussions that you are knowledgeable and I think that most of us here do the same. It is hard for me to share something on topics that I have not experienced or I do not even have a single idea about it. I do not know too why some people would pretend that they know the topic and that they are well-versed about it while the truth is that it is the other way around. We should not be embarrassed to admit that we do not know something because there are so many topics in here and I bet that there is no one in here who is knowledgeable about everything. Let us just be ourselves because pretending to know everything is like giving other people a chance to laugh at us.

true, there are some people who have something to say about everything and anything - whether or not they actually know something about the subject is up for debate. There are, of course, "trivia" nuts such as myself who know a little of everything, but only a lot about some things. Because I write a lot of internet articles on quite a variety of subjects, I've learned much in the past couple of years. At the same time, I'll admit to being ignorant of anything deeply technology based. It's just not my thing. Most people here only Mylot seem to respond only to discussions on which they have something valid to offer.

I don't know what is the trend in your place, but here in my place, people sometimes seem reluctant admitting to fault instead they will argue and give a lot of reasons, would it be a better place if they just said sorry instead of heating up to someone else's temperature? Here is what happen in my place and I don't like it, I think it need to be change to help our country to grow in society.

There are indeed many people like these whom pretend to know and everything and be superior to others, but in fact their knowledge is very limited and they don't realize it,and that's why they get involved in conversations on topics they know very little about, which eventually makes them them ridiculous.I think the best attitude we can have towards such individuals is to ignore them, and if we have no choice but have a conversation with them we mustn't get upset at the foolish they say,we just let them talk until they realize that nobody takes them seriously.

Are you talking about specific people you know? Sometimes people just have something on their mind or they have heard about a subject before, so they share with you what they know. If it's more than you know, or even if it's less, you may perceive it as they are trying to be all knowing.
It is very annoying though when it does happen and people want to tell you how to do something, not because they know better but because they haven't thought it through like you yet.

I'm totally agreed with you and Ravi. Some people thinks they are far more better and greater than other people. They doesn't want to admit that they does not know about something. We can say that they are trying to show-off! Well, i guess we can just ignore people like this.
