I just found out no Sale no Salary

This is to help my co worker to decide if she will continue or not being a agent. I send a message on one of my supervisor asking if we can have our salary even we did not reach our goal to make a sale, now he responded no it will be forfeited. It is clear that if we don't reach our certain goal in a 45 days of training we can't get anything even a single centavo from them. Isn't it fair for us? I want to know from you mylotters specially on those who are in this field. Thanks

Not all of us can quit our existing jobs. we may not be able to find a substitute one quickly. many depend on income for their day to day living. good day.

I don't like the no sale no salary jobs. They aren't really fair in my opinion. No matter how hard you work, there is no chance of getting paid if no one wants to buy anything.

I also think now a days some jobs only pays if a person do sales especially in the selling and call center type of jobs.

Yes,and if that's the case. I rather have my own buy and sell business. Atleast I'm the boss of my own and dictate my own time at the comfort of my home.

I would say that is not fair, no matter what, you have time involved. I don't know what kind of agent, but I would be looking somewhere else for a job.

It's a call center Ms. Bon and we are taking our training for 45 days that they told us to have a daily allowances that we can get for twice a month. But even if we are on the training days we have to make a sale in a given quota but if not we can't receive anything from them.

lynboobsy It is not fair to deny full salary for people after their working for 45 days. A basic limit of salary should be paid and when they achieve over and above the limit set for sale then they can be paid incentives. It depends on the nature of industry, country, employment strategies and government rules.

Unfortunately we can't have anything even we completed the 45 days without a sale.

I know it's not fair, but life isn't fair at all. If they have it in their company policy then your screwed. Like what others response here. I would say that you should find another company/job, because apparently they don't have that much care for your work as agents.

Not sure which country you're in, and I got this as an e-mail notification, so Ican't see under which interest this is posted. Here in Canada, we are paid for doing the job, but we are not necessarily given quotas. However, in some fields, selling electronics for example, we are given an extra comission for making a sale. That way we get paid for doing what we do, and paid extra, for actually making the sale. Instead of punishing us for not making a sale, we are rewarded for making one.

I'm from the Philippines and I just got this job recently as a Call Center agent without any knowledge that's why we have to take as a trainee but while were on the training they assure us that we are paid. But recently while I'm on the training they give us quota and if we failed to reach it even though we finish the 45 days of training we will not get paid. But if we have a sale we can have a added commission on it.

okay you work on commission, I would never work for a company like that. I always worked for a company that paid a salary. It is too hard to work on commission.

Just another illustration of how nothing much is free. They give the training they usually do want something back. Whether it is fair depends on how reasonable their goal or quota is.

You have a point but I think no one will encourage to join their group if they have this kind of policy.

i find that unfair lyn as efforts were exerted. what if no one really buys? in our office trainees below 6 months are already given the minimum wage...

hi lyn, Waaaaaaaaaaaa.........so it means it is outbound I don't have much knowledge about it but they call it as outbound. So it's just like a networking if you don't have recruit then you can't have money Let it go friend you just charge to experience like what they say happy mylotting

As far as I understand, you are on an outbound account in a call center. If you don't prefer sales, you can quit you job and shift on an inbound account. There's no quota needed, only the questions and the queries of the clients. Or you can still keep your sales job, there are companies like teletech or teleperformance. They will still pay you and give you consideration even if you don't reach the quota.

Hi friend, sad to hear about this, it is not easy to make a sale in this days, i think you take a tough project, as you mentioned your earnings will be forfeited if you don't make any sales, you are in need to make a sale to get money. Wish you all the best

No I think we don't have that, anyway were not still signing for any contract because were only a trainee there but before they clear it to us that we can receive our salary or allowance for that day but not on a daily basis it is twice a month.

They do not pay for working? I think in your job at call center people pay only for sales like commission. If that is the case I think I would suggest your friend to look for other jobs. I think there should not be something like no salary especially if your friend had worked very hard. Hope she attains sales very soon.

Reminds me of a former colleague who applied and got hired by a call center company. He was hired right away and underwent training. later he found out that salary is on a commission basis. The catch is, you have to reach the quota otherwise you lose the job. Unfortunately, he missed his quota and true enough he was fired.

That's the irony of a sales job. There are sales job with a regular salary, but some don't. So if you are to accept a sales job, you should really work hard to make a sale.

Hi. Are you in real estate? because I think there are policies like no sale no salary for real estate agents. If you make a sale then you will get a certain commission from your sale. But if there is no sale made, then the agent won't get anything. Yes, it is not fair. But that is how the real estate system work. This motivates agents to sell many units and reward them if they are successful in the sale. If you are the owner of the business, i think you will agree that the system is indeed reasonable :) what if your employee did not a single unit for a year and you keep paying him salary, won't it be unfair to the employer? :) this is just my opinion.
